Morning all
 
This weekend was jam packed. Relay for Life was Friday night, I made it 11.5 miles before I had to leave so that was awesome. Saturday was Harry Potter with my mom and then when I got home the first HP was on the tv so I watched that for a while. Yesterday was our little town parade where the fire trucks ended up having to leave because they had a call. So the parade was stopped on the main street and all of the kids were sitting in their chairs waiting when the fire trucks came screaming by again and all of the little kids started waving for candy again. 
 
Not to much going on this week but I'm definately getting an ice cream attachement for my mixer. I have to try all of the combinations that you guys are listing!!

Fun: This is my last week before vacation! On Saturday, we leave for St Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Three of my buddies from high school will also be there with their families, so it should be a really fun week! We just gotta make it thru the work week first... 
 
Also, today is DW's birthday. She probably won't want me to say how old she is, but ummm... she's just a couple months younger than me. I'll leave it at that. <img alt="biggrin.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif" style="width:16px;height:16px;">

It's sunny today! And I can smell the ocean, which I love. Wish I was outside instead of my office.
 
Had a nice weekend with the family. We went to the dragonboat festival for a bit, a family picnic (where Lena got to ride a pony, fun!), visited my sister, teddy bear picnic.
 
This will be a short week for me because I'm taking friday off so we can head to Moncton for the big U2 concert. Cannot wait!

Oh... after seeing several of you guys talk about the benefits of chia seeds, I thought I'd give it a try. I just got my bag in. I'll admit there's not much of a taste, which is a pretty good thing. I could mix it into whatever I'm eating, anyway. Though now, my yogurt looks like I have bird food in it!

it was a sweltering HAWWWT weekend but we managed to get a lot accomplished plus have some fun! believe it or not, we actually grilled out in the 100+ weather.. our friends and we alternated manning the grill and jumping in the pool

it was fun times - nothing like puppies, babies, good food, and TONS of desserts (hello, homemade icecream sammiches! my name is missy and i'm about to conquer two or five of you)
 
the best part about being part time is that i get a long weekend every week b/c i have mondays off. woot!!! have a good day, 30s.

Morning all:
 
fun/not fun: I'm back after a week of teh awesome vacation on the glorious Freedom of the Seas. It's not fun that no one is waiting on me this morning. I bet I gained 5 lbs easy...we ate like pigs ( on awesome gourmet food). So much to list, but needless to say, we ordered doulbe on lobster tail night. Fun! I also dropped some $$$ and had DW's engagement solitaire reset in a different ring with 6 other smaller diamonds...looks great! 
 
Not fun: I got an ominous text from my dad last night after we returned that just said, we need to talk. I immediately thought the worst and it was true. My Grandfater suffered a stroke last week. Then another call this morning saying that he passed away this morning. My mom and aunt were at his side. He was 94 and had a long, great life. He was such a sweet man. Very kind and gentle. I'll miss him.

We'll leave tomorrow for Nashville. Thoughts, prayers, and vibes for my family would be greatly appreciated.
 
Don't want to leave you on a sad note, so I'll post these for you monday enjoyment. We had a professional photographer take some pictures at an old farm a few months ago. DW and I got to pick some to purchase the week before vacation. Check them out.

Fun: Last Friday we got word that the doctors think they were able to get all of my aunt's cancer during surgery and she is in "remission." Yayayayayay!

It was crazy hot here on Saturday, but it seems the heat has finally left us now for a while.... I haven't really checked the forecast though.

Speaking of birthdays, mine is Friday and we are going to Green Bay with friends overnight and doing the Packers 5K on Saturday. Little to no chance for a great race, but it should be a blast!! Oh - and I also scored some free Brewers tix for the whole family in August!

I appear to be in a use a lot of exclamation marks mood!
 
We also had a hot weekend at the lake with some interesting storms too. The kids were disappointed that we only got to fish once and one boat ride, but they still had fun with the friends that were visiting.
 
I went to the batting cage last night to make sure I can still hit the ball before the big softball tourney this weekend. Apparently I'm a wimp now, because I have a huge blister on my thumb from hitting four tokens worth of pitches. Hope it heals by Saturday!

It's so strange for me thinking of Voo's passing because that was just one of some many troubling things for me that week. I'd had to go for a follow up mammogram...on my birthday. Later that day, Beaker let me know he'd died. The next day, DxH and I met with our divorce mediator for the first time, and the next day, the day of Joe's funeral, I was laid off. 
 
I commented to someone yesterday that I've started to mark time as "BF" and "AF"...before and after (my mom's) funeral. Regarding Joe's death, that whole week I refer to as My Week from Hell.
 
In other news...The Guy came over last night with a bucket of shucked clams he'd caught earlier in the week, and we made a vat of chowder. I'm not sure exactly where we are headed, but he and I talked a bit and we're giving it a go again. I'm happy...he wasn't just there for me when my mother died, but he was a constant presence. Since then, we've started to ease into something that feels good in a way that we haven't been able to achieve in the whole time we've dated. I think our relationship might remain unconventional, in that our time together and our contact might be much less than most couples, but for the first time in 2 years, I can see how we might make it work.
 
Colleen, it smells like the ocean here too! That's one of my favorite things in the whole world, waking up in the morning and smelling the sea.

Hi all - yesterday was relaxing, if nothing else. A few things to take care of, but mostly it was the stuff that didn't have any strict timelines to them save for some recordings on DVD I was making (the geography geek in me is loving the new series "How The States Got Their Shapes")
 
((((Tim & Family)))) So sorry to hear of your grandfather's passing. On the other hand, those pictures are gorgeous and I'm glad the vacation went well.

Kris and I were talking about the very same thing yesterday; I was thinking we could do some of our sandwiches <a href="http://www.itsiticecream.com/" target="_blank">It's It</a> style with a layer of chocolate on the outside (it was scary to find out recently that their outlet is just 20 min from my house.)
