:)

he ran the flying pig half marathon in 2009, did well, but hurt so much he said, "NEVER AGAIN" and stopped running aside from a time or two a week for 2-5 miles just to stay in shape for The Arnold, lol ...

fast forward to this spring, I ask if he'll come to the HOWL with me to keep me company .. he said okay ... time to register and I tell him he should just sign up to do it too since it's only 3.29 mile loop and he can rest and stop whenever he wants ... and they have Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken cater post-race and a beer wagon!!! He says, OKAY ...

my hubby, being my hubby, won't just not try ... he actually trained (one day a week, lol) working up to a few 15-17 milers and a 20 miler and a 23 miler ... he works 12 HOUR days on the weekends and won't run then but did sometimes fit in a couple jogs around the block with me and the pup aside from his one LR ...

I signed him on for 30 miles, lol .... since we had to name a personal goal on our app ... I didn't know if he'd train or be able to do that when I signed him up but thought he would be more than capable if he at least trained SOME ... he made his goal! He actually kicked his goal's arse to the curb and made nearly 10 more miles!!!! on a day that reached 90F!!!

Congrats to Mr Sporti .... 39.48 miles on his first race over 13.1 :)

this is us in front of our personal AS and he's telling us we did '4-0' miles (approx) ... not '0-4' miles, lol

and the second pic is him with his 'medal' for finishing ... it's a bottle opener with a wolf pawprint on it :)

thanks ... it's cool but can also be a challenge having such bull-headed individuals living under the same roof ... being bull-headed is a requirement to doing endurance sports, hahahaaa

That is impressive.

You've got a running family, if he isn't too sore to ever think about running another race...

he's doing pretty great ...aside from the 2nd toe that blistered ... I got home from work and he's performed a little toenail & blistered skin removal surgery on himself and it looks pretty awful *barf*

he's not hobble at all by muscle soreness or otherwise in pain aside from his blister thing ... he's a tough SOB, lol ...
