I have no desire to watch either of these movies a second time.

With The Perfect Storm, I couldn't have cared less about those people (well, the characters).

With Apocalypse Now, I think it was an issue of "the hype", and, the movie hasn't held up. I did watch it until a few years ago, and, except for Robert Duvall, I think the movie was pretty darn average.

That's weird, because I thought of perfect storm right away also...probably because it was recently on and as I was flipping through I said" I liked it the first time, but I couldn't watch it a second"

We watched Shawshank redemption...I have no idea why I've watched it so many times...I think I like Morgan freeman's voice.

Then there's the opposite. I couldn't get through "the color purple" the first time. I have watched it a few times since. I look forward to certain parts, in fact. "Harpo!!!!"

I can probably watch The Shawshank Redemption about once a week.

Lots of old movies that were reliant on special effects, aren't so special any more.

Lots of 80's cheese too, like The Last Starfighter or Iron Eagle stuff like that.

Shawshank...every time I see it I'm amazed at how good a movie it is. Or, at least, how good *I* think it is.

yeah, I know, that's the opposite of the thread.

Thing is, if I watch a movie a second time and don't like it, I probably would never watch it again. Only exception (which doesn't apply anymore), kids movies. They're tool old for that continuous, watching over and over thing.

Ok, I thought of one, Disney's "The Fox and the Hound". Sort of liked it the first time. The next 200 times I watched it, I realized how much of a piece of crap it was.

Perfect Storm - I won't watch it. I remember that day and when the news hit that that boat was gone - not entertainment.

Never seen ANY of The Lord of the Rings[es]; but I'm sure they'd bore the CRAP out of me, anyway

I never thought I'd say that, since I'm not a middle or high school boy. Some slow parts, sure; but overall they're well done and exciting to view multiple times.

OTOH, I cannot watch more than 30 seconds of ANY three stooges flick.

DH is a huge fan...<shudder>...I loved him SO much, that I went with him to some of the films when shown at our student union back when we were kids at the UW-Madison...<shudder>

I'm sure I'll get banned for this: but ANY Christmas movie, particularly "A Christmas Story" or "It's a Wonderful Life"

I loved LOTR. And I'm not into that genre of literature or movie.

It was a family tradition to have our holiday meal and then go watch an LOTR at the theater.

Except for The Simpsons Movie, and Team America; World Police, I haven't seen a decent animated movie since I was about ten. And the Simpsons one was disappointing (the series has been disappointing since about season 6 or 7).

I have ZERO desire to see any of the Stan Lee/Marvel comics stuff. None.

And I'll get hated for this one - any and all of the Shrek movies.

And, just for wherestheportojohn, because we care, we need to get a thread up to quote your favorite Three Stooges lines.

I don't think I've got the first two locales right, or the titles, but the third is poifect.

The boys are in Scotland, and are inheriting titles. The old man looks at them and says: "You (Moe) shall be be Lord of Larkinshire. You (Larry) will be Earl of Dundee. And (looking at Curly) you are Baron of Graymatter."
