Any memorable movies?

We had to watch that darn red ballon movie. Here's a snap from it:

I guess it contained a lesson. Looking back, I worry for the kid's feet, pounding away on those streets in such unsupportive shoes.

I can still hear the old film reel whirring away. We had reels, back then.

Aside from something class-oriented, I just remember one I saw in third grade. It was something to do with manners and being polite to people.

There was a scene with a kid walking down a school hall waving and saying hello to every other kid in the school, and he did it in such a way that we thought he had issues. before the narrator could explain what was going, the film got stuck in the projector (it was a reel projector, too), caught fire and burned up, which you saw on the screen.

I don't ever remember third graders giving a standing ovation to a movie ending before...

DS watched "THE MOVIE" with the rest of the fifth graders last week. You know, the one where they teach about wet dreams and periods and underarm odor and puberty and what-not? Yeah, DS was waayyyyy more mature about it than I was when he described it to me....

When I was a kid, boys got an extra recess and girls watched THE MOVIE.

I never got to see it....

Speaking of Bell Labs, back when the world was right, and AT&T owned it all, we saw a movie, put out by AT&T, called "It Couldn't Be Done" ("They said it couldn't be done" maybe)?, which was pretty awesome. It chronicled the making of the Golden Gate, Hoover Dam, etc.

Skinny and Fatty? OMG, it's been years since I've heard of that one.

It seemed like every time I saw that show (I want to say it was late Saturday morning or during the noon hour), it was that same damn movie.

See, that was when I lived in Connecticut and before my Saturday afternoons here in South Jersey were spent with Dr. Shock

Thank goodness the CFF was replaced by some quality shows like Pee Wee's Playhouse.

The Shocky Doc was awesome. Every Friday (or Saturday, I can't remember), I stayed up after midnight to watch those movies.

We had field trips in grammar school to see" Tora! Tora! Tora! ", "Beckett" and "Romeo and Juliet." I vaguely remember watching the Red Balloon in high School. I remember watching movies in High School Psych-Soc class- Three Faces of Eve, and Days of Wine and Roses.

You saw Tora! Tora! Tora! in elementary school? Granted, I did when I was that age, but I certainly didn't see that on school property.
