I hope she won't mind me posting this but.... CCRaces (a.k.a. Charlotte) had a bit of an accident:

Speaking of looking both ways when you cross a street so you don't end up like Ohhndrea: I guess I failed to do that yesterday. I was out delivering flyers for a 5k and 10k run that I coordinate through where I work, The Kelly Carter Scholarship Run. I was crossing the main drag at a crosswalk, but not a crosswalk with a light. It's sort of the demarcation between downtown and the remainder of the city. I swear I looked both ways, and I stepped into the intersection. The next thing I remember with great clarity was waking up in the ER of my small-town hospital, with my husband standing over me. I had been struck by a motorcycle. I had never even seen the motorcyclist coming.

I have vague and spotty memories. I remember nothing of the actual impact. I remember, a little later sitting up, in the road I think, and putting my hand to my aching skull, and it coming away with a palmful of blood. I remember someone telling me to lie still. I don't remember the ambulance ride or arrival to the hospital. I remember someone telling me they were going to get a CT scan of my brain. I don't remember the scan. I remember later, someone saying they were going to get some x-rays. I don't remember those, or what they x-rayed. Then later, when I fully "woke up" my husband was there. I have no recollection of giving anyone my husband's phone number at work, but they wouldn't have found it in my phone, because my phone wasn't on me. I must have given someone that info. From the police report I learned that I told the responding officer that I "didn't remember seeing a motorcycle" Well that's certainly the truth. Furthermore, I have no memory of talking to anyone at the scene or in the hospital.

I have a 5 cm laceration on the crown of my skull to the back of my head, and a concussion. I have two 4 cm lacerations. One on my right leg, another on my right hip. I have various bruises and abrasions (road rash) all over my arms and legs. My head, neck and shoulders are very very very very....infinity sore today. But I was also pretty lucky, all things considered.

Keep her in your prayers!
