Nothing for me today. I am staying home and relaxing. Getting rid of my cough and such so I can function properly. Also if I went to church today my son says that I would cough on my friends and that would not be good.

Thanks for the b-day greetings friday. I had a night out with the boys friday night (i.e., went to see Thor with my kids) and then did the 25k trail race yesterday morning. I can report that, while perhaps not ideal, movie popcorn and cookie cake will do as a pre-race dinner in a pinch. The 25k went just fine. I was prepared to get soaked, but the rain held off save for a couple of sprinkles and I cruised pretty evenly averaging about 8:15 pace until mile 14 and picked it up without too much effort to a little under 8:00 the last mile+. Now it's focus on rest and easy recovery until the 26.2 long run next weekend.

Hope you folks are enjoying the weekend and happy Mother's Day to the moms out there!

Fly by... Quick report, son1 and I did okay this weekend. Last weekend's race took more out of us than expected. Started yesterday just feeling "off". Oh well, decided to just treat it as a tour. Finished yesterday in 7:15. Certainly not a PR, we're okay with that. Stopped at the party in the park for a bit but when it started raining I headed for the overnight location. Got there, the rain had stopped and someone was just coming in from a run. Only one thing to do. Changed into running shoes and headed out for a run. Caught son1 as I was headed back. He said that a buddy of mine had called me a wimp for heading in when it started raining. Doh!!! Dem's fighting words! So I headed back to the park and had a word with him. Seeing me run into the park shut him up! 104m bike, 3.5m run. Had a great dinner at Cornerstone Church. Sat with a woman I met last year and a couple of friends she had made this year. Had the whole table hootin' and hollerin' for a good long time. Didn't sleep well at all last night. Guy next to me was snoring loud enough to shake the window panes. Thunderstorm rolled through. Then some idiot's cell phone was going off every 5mins starting at 4am. Uneventful ride today. Just nuthin' in the tank. It certainly wasn't the worst ride, just wasn't a smokin' hot time. 104m, not sure of time because my garmin died. But, another TOSRV in the bag. Looking forward to getting back out there next year. I've met a lot of friends over the years that I only see on TOSRV. NOT going and seeing them just seems, well, wrong!

Nope, the Run for the Red marathon in the Poconos. No offense to Rockford or Schaumburg.

Soccer day for me. Blowout loss. Nothing more to say about it and that is for the best.

Rest day tomorrow, then the push for North Face commences on Tuesday. A couple of big weeks lie ahead before race day on 6/5.
