Maybe Monday will post on the Monday daily?

Monday - My dw and I ran the Bar Harbor Maine marathon this last fall. Beautiful up there. We flew into Portland and drove the coast up and back. Stopped at some lighthouses and small towns. Had a great time.

Probably won't get in any workout today. Have some early evening unpleasantries to take care of.

Hi KS

No workout for me today so I wanted to get a full day work in. I cut back a lot when the weather is bad but

I have a house I can work on inside. I had to tear out all the tile so I could put a new tub in. The sides went well

and I was able to pry off a couple large sections so I didn't have to break and clean up little pieces of tile.

I got one row out of the back and was able to pull on a section to break it free. Instead, the whole back about

5' by 5' came off in one piece, fell and landed on the top of my left foot. It was one of those pains that make you sweat

and start to feel sick. I sat down for a few minutes and it didn't feel like I broke anything. After a few hours it doesn't hurt as much when I walk on it. I'll see how it feels tomorrow morning and decide whether to do a run or wait until wednesday.

Man RIP. I know the feeling. Did I really do something horrible to myself or not? Hope nothing serious.

Ouch, ouch, ouch!!!

Cripe, I hope that's nothing lasting, Rip.

Take it easy on it until you know.

Hi KS!

Did 6.8 easy miles after work in a new pair of road shoes. Same as previous (Brooks Addiction), but it's a new model. While they felt wonderful to start, I had to stop at least 4 times to try to adjust either the lacing across the front of the foot with the neuroma or the metatarsal pad in the same, and I think I finally got it right. Perhaps a bit of stretching out of the toebox will help.

Oh man, Rip, that sounds so painful. Did you get a bruise or any swelling? Sometimes I accidentally bang into something and hit a vein and that's pretty severely painful. Maybe you hit a vein. You ARE icing it tonight, right?

Another slow flat 6 on the TM for me. Every day is better, and every day the lump is flatter. Yay for that!

Nice 6 milers Heme and HF

Foot is getting better all the time. The pain is only from the swelling inside the foot when I put pressure on my toes.and that seems to be going away.

Looks like one of those things I'll forget about in a couple days. When it happened I was already figuring where 3-6 weeks off would be.

It was just at the start of last winter that I broke my toe dropping a small board on it. Steel toed shoes wouldn't have helped any today as it was higher up on the foot.

Ksrunr, glad you had a good experience in Maine. The quality of life is very high here, really a wonderful place. I highly recommend a holiday. Actually that is how I ended up here, when I lived in the Boston area I vacationed in Maine and when a chance came for a job, I jumped at it. That is the downside - fewer people, beautiful natural scenery = not many good jobs. But it has worked out for me.

Marathon work session led to no exercise on Monday, other than running up and down the stairs about a million times!
