Ugh. SOOO tired. For good reasons at least but ugh.

Took a much later train home last night than I'd thought I might, but I'm so glad I did! Maria and I ran in Central Park in the morning (barely...we had a late Sat night and a late start Sun), then went for soup dumplings, then headed down to the Tenement Museum. Coolio super day in NYC!

Maria was a great hostess!!! THANKS girlie!!!

Saturday was the best day...I was so happy to see everyone and to surprise Lori in NY. Plus I spent Friday night with one of my oldest friends who lived uptown. It was good to see him, even if I have to have a very indepth come to Jesus talk with him...I needed to do this months ago and put it off...now it REALLY needs to be done.

I quickly read the weekend fun thread, and I just wanted to ((((((everyone)))))) whether they need it or not.

Gotta run!

Morning

(((Heater)))

Made it through the weekend without any major kiddos sickness, could this be the end of the dreaded cold/flu?

So Hubby bought DS#2 a pitching machine for his birthday. It wasn't horribly expensive so not a big deal. We decided to hide the present and give it to DS#2 on his birthday. Well Hubby couldn't wait to play with the pitching machine. It is set up in the basement and both were practicing all weekend.

mornin'. Bagel is consumed, coffee is at hand. The 1st of 12 students is due in 15 min, and I'm still not awake yet. Good thing most of my students today are coming in to file for graduation. That's a pretty routine bit of business. Still, I need to get to the zillion e-mails in my inbox. Laters!

I had a great time with the girls on saturday! It was long overdue, that's for sure! We had a lot of laughs and I certainly needed them.

Did anyone else get sucked into watching all the Oscars? I do every year.

Must find something to munch on...

I'd like to thank everyone for the birthday wishes. I'm almost getting to the age where I wish it would just slide by completely unnoticed, especially unnoticed by me. Shame on me for missing that it was HH's daughter's birthday too.

Morning all,

I'm back from my ski trip. We got home last night about 7:30pm. It was LONG day of traveling to get back. Tahoe was getting hammered by a winter storm when we left the condo to drive to the Reno airport. We made it up and over the pass with time to spare though.

Very Brief Ski Report:
Day 1 - Heavenly; morning on the Nevada side, afternoon on the California side. Conditions: 1 inch fresh to start the day 2 - 4 inches fell in the afternoon. Great first day!!!!
Day 2 - Squaw valley ; Epic conditions 5 - 9 inches fresh. We had to drive around the lake (the long way to get there). We were the 9th car from the Far East lift. We did the far east side of the mtn in the morning. Got first tracks in a few places. Moved to the west side of the mtn for the afternoon. 4 - 8 inches fell during the afternoon. Late afternoon runs in the trees were on tracks that had been completely filled with fresh snow. We took the Olympic tram up to High camp and came down under the lights after having a beer before calling it a day and then drove back to South Tahoe.
Day 3 - Sierra at Tahoe. Recommended to us, so we decided to give it a go. It was very vertical!! Awesome. A little smaller in size than the previous two places. And fewer high speed lifts, but really nice terrain. We ripped up the fresh morning conditions and then it started snowing at lunch time. We got 3 runs in off the back side of the mtn before it was closed due to high winds after lunch. In snowed like crazy all afternoon, and my one buddy (the other two had left) and I left it all out on the mountain.

My one dumb move of the trip. Feeling probably a little too confident from tree skiing the day before at Squaw, on the first run down the hill at Sierra, I go barreling off into the trees at too high speed, and realize that I'm about to fly off a drop. So, I hit the eject button and dove head first into a snow bank in order to stop. My skiis helicoptered and both came off. The binding on my right ski opened no problem, my left ski binding did not release, but my boot came out anyway, but not until after my ankle was rolled a bit. So it was a little tender for the rest of the day. It's fine now, sorta, I should be able to run today. Some minor muscle pain on my left calf is all I have.

I wore my Garmin on a couple of days. Messed with the settings to make it auto pause while we were on the lifts. Interesting data. Basically, we skiied aprrox 19 miles on the first day, and 28 miles on the second day. Max speed was 37.9 mph.

Well it's back to work. I have a ton of work to get caught up on. I won't be hanging out in here too much the next few days.

Later,
G'morning all - evidently I needed the sleep last week. Don't think I've slept 9-hours-plus on two consecutive days in quite awhile

Nuttin' too exciting today I don't think. Didn't watch too many of the Oscar nominated movies, so I only half-paid attention to that last night (I loved the line that Jon Stewart had about the movie "Norbit" tho')

Tim - wow, I had no idea you'd be within relative stone's throw away this weekend. Glad you beat out the storm that hit us on Sunday - they shut down the freeway yesterday night because of the snow & wind and today still have chain requirements.

Anyway, back to work....

Mornin' gang. Happy Monday.

(((Chris))) just extra hugs for you today.

So here's the dress I bought on Saturday: http://www.icebreaker.com/site/icebr...urn_dress.html

I love it.

And, Cactus - as far as pictures of the bath and lambic, DH says he's not sharing those.

Today should be a good day. I understood my cost accounting assignment for tomorrow, I got my grade from India, DH's office is switching over to back-end voice recognition software for dictations. . . Ahhhh. . .it's those precious little things.
