Dan- Good to see you're still at it

I forgot to pack my watch last night, so I had to run 'naked' this morning. I did 2 laps on the Red Loop for about 6 miles in 1:10. Stinging nettles- no friend of mine.

Afternoon all,

Busy Monday and a busy week ahead. I had a lot to do at home this morning before coming into the office, got in late and then it was straight into a meeting which just got done. Will be out of pocket tomorrow at an all-day work offsite plus dinner afterwards, so don't expect to hear from me again until Wednesday.

Because of this morning's events, didn't have time to pack a bag for a midday'er. My plan had been to double up today, maybe 7 over lunch and then another 3-5 in the evening. So Plan B now is to just go for the whole 10-12 total this evening. Off day tomorrow so it should be fine.

Nice jobs out there this morning.

Hello, party people. This Saturday was the Warrior Dash, which was alot of fun. It was 3.5 miles with a bunch of obstacles. It wasn't particularly hard, but I did find I had to scramble over obstacles that some taller people seemed to be able to leap over. I was of course a muddy mess at the emd of it.

Sunday was just a one mile day, plus family zumba at the YMCA.

This morning I did the long run that I didn't do on sunday. 19.8 miles on the greenway. Felt great through mile 16, and then did alot of walking and shuffling in the final miles. I really hope I can be ready for this marathon in November.

chances--stinging nettles is a NASTY plant. I've seen it mostly in deep woods where it's shaded and damp. Looks like any old plant--until you brush up against it. It has itty bitty needles on the edge of the leaves that give you a nasty sting. Welts are about the size of a mosquito bite and itchier than all get out. Doesn't last long, just a few hours. But, son3 had a very serious allergic reaction when he was younger. Nasty stuff that you don't wanna bump into!!!

Rest day. Just trying to get caught up from being gone all weekend. Trying to get my act together. Considering going back on meds. Big side effect is it messes with HR and makes running less than ideal. And running is something that I use to manage depression. Kinda catch 22...

Sorry guys I have been AWOL. It is tough when I don’t have access to KR from work. The phone is tough to write anything of value.

Saturday I ran my first 5K of the year and I ended up taking 1st overall. It was actually a pretty tough course with the first .8 miles downhill and then it was all uphill though mile 2.5 before it started back down. Then once we reach bottom of the hill to run around the lake they sent us the wrong direction around which made the 5K quite short. It measured at 2.75 on my watch. Either way I ended up running a 6:37 pace, which would have worked out to about 20:33 5k.

Today, I went out for a tempo run. 1 mile WU followed by 3 miles at a 6:43 pace; slightly faster than I want my tempo runs to be. I am going to try and run a 1:30 HM in November, if I can run that weekend. My son has soccer state finals that same weekend and of course if he makes it I will be going to the soccer game and not the HM. I will have to look for another HM if I can’t run it.

Daaaang, Dave. What a comeback.

4boys, I feel your pain. Running/depression/no-running has often been a chicken or egg quandry for me, too. I hope you feel better soon. Maybe you could start on a lower dose of meds or a different one? Hugs to you.
