Good day everyone!

6 mile run for me this morning. It took forever to get loose. I was about to throw in the towel at 2 miles. Legs tight! Mile 3 was even worse and then it all came around and a strong run back to the office. 8:23 - 8:27 - 8:54 - 7:19 - 6:21 - 7:10 The last mile through 3/4 of a mile was at 6:08 pace and then I had to turn it down to cool down.

Happy training everyone.

David--steady as usual!

jebba--hope you get a run in later.

Son1 and I did the Hancock Hundred bicycle tour yesterday. This was the 40th anniversary, so it was a big one. They had a display with all the patches from previous years (bike tours tend to give out patches like runs give out t-shirts) and it was fun pointing out all the patches that I have. As for the ride, it was tough! NW Ohio flatlands and it was WINDY! But, overall, it was a fun day. Good to see a bunch of the guys I used to ride with. 101miles. Had planned on tossing in a short run, but knee wasn't feeling it. Thursday on my long run I stepped on a walnut and twisted my left ankle and somehow managed to injure my right knee.

Great run Dave!

Congrats on a huge ride Mom, and I hope your knee feels better.

Jebba-same for me here.

Up a little before 6, weight room with the team. I must be strong, but most likely we had an easy workout. Looking forward to next week when I get to lift with the sprinters since the CC team won't be doing a super lot. I'm in off-season mode, so I want to hammer my body!!! Looking at how some team members with even less lifting experience than me looked though, it's clear that our team has a lot of room for improvement in strength.

Easy run this afternoon.

Great job on the 100 miler! I have yet to complete one. Looking forward tot he day I can get out and do it with a group. My long rides are normally early mornings during the hours of darkness. It is not as fun riding by yourself in the dark.

Hope the knee feels better today.

I did my 10-mile mountain road run. I did another 20-mile run yesterday -- still feeling very good... Up to 70 mpw now after coming back from 0mpw just 6 weeks ago...

20 for me yesterday. Tough, tough, tough. I have a cold and the run definitely did not sweat out the bug. Rest today.

loopy you give me hope! I've been way low on mileage since my 50 miler in April, like no week more than 20 miles. I've run once or twice in Sept. I'll shoot for 5 times per week for th rest of the month.

Morning all,

Nice running, riding and powerlifting already being done today I see...and a well deserved rest day for Jill.

I have a taper-week "sharpening" workout on tap for today...just 5 miles or so, but with the middle 2 miles at HMP which for me is hopefully about 6:45/mile. It will be a pretty light week overall, at least until Sunday morning anyway. I packed my Brooks ST racers for today's workout since those are the flats I'll be wearing Sunday...you know you've been away from long-distance racing for a while when it's September and your Boston Marathon timing chip is still attached to the shoe.

Speaking of cycling...my brother this weekend went out and rode some type of 20-mile bike event in Philly this weekend. Just a few weeks ago I talked him into trying the 31-mile version of the Gran Fondo they had up there. Looks like he's caught the bug!

Have a great one all.

BBS- I am still having problems with this website and it is pretty goofy. I thought it was just my computer and now I am glad that there is someone else experiencing some problems.

If the website ever stops acting goofy I will put up a race report. I do not have the official results form the 8k on saturday, but my calves, quads and shoulders are sore. My feet feel o.k. for now. that was some serious downhill racing though.

Rest day. This afternoon my massage was cancelled, although I didn't find out until I got there. Great. Earlier, we drove back from Madison after watching DW's BIL become an Ironman yesterday. Pretty cool. I'd do it, if (a) I could swim; (b) wanted to learn to swim; and (c) had any desire to ride my road bike more than 30 miles. May be I'll do one before I'm 40? Crap! Missed that boat. Perhaps I'm just too lazy to become a triathlete?

Nice workouts and ski-slope mileage ramp ups all. Note that the website occasionally blows up on me but it's usually OK after I hit the computer with the mouse (squeek, splat).
