Good afternoon, TEAM LIT!

On a holiday otherwise known around these parts for a rain out -- as has happened many a year -- we are in the midst of amazing weather. Today alone is a top 10 day of the year. Love it!

3 mile run early this sluggish morning. Tempo pacing on final mile or two after slow start.

A few hours later...

16 mile bike. Hard. No idea how slow. Or fast. Glorious day.

Good afternoon and happy Labor Day!

Bought me some spanky new trail shoes couple days ago and they needed a tester run. So, took the Little Otters in the jogger and went up and down the fire road by our house a couple times for a total of 4.5 miles. Slower than molasses but the shoes felt great, and it was definitely good hill training!!

Light weights on tap tonight.

Good to be back home after 4-days at a lake-front cottage in Northern Michigan. The weather was, I have to say, rather miserable, except one day - cold, rainy, and windy. But we had a nice relaxing time with the family. Thanks to front-heavy training week on top of having done too much for the last few weeks withtout proper rest, my body totally fell apart on Friday. Ended up staying on a sofa in front of the fireplace (with fire on!) all day long on Sat. One of these days, I will figure out a good balance b/w training load and rest. After a few easy or rest days, I feel ok now. I probably will take one more easier day. Two more weeks to go to the Natls.

Lovely OWS in the pond down the street. About 46 minutes. Tom hung out in a kayak while I swam.

3mi run on the Timberman course, run #3 of 3 in 36 hours workout. This one hurt because I meant to run it fast and managed around 9:30/mi. I am glad I did this workout because I have a lot of confidence now for Reach The Beach. We'll see how it goes without any sleep though :).

Nothing for me for the 2nd day in a row. The condo changed over, so we spent the day cleaning and fixing for the new tenant. So beautiful out too. Oh well, it's going to be a nice week, so I'll have a chance to enjoy it!!
