Good morning, TEAM LIT!

Back to reality today.

cak: No Baystate for me. I don't much like that race. Course is utterly boring (I've done it three or four times). I'll always look for something else over that one. I have Hudson Mohawk, otherwise known as the Mohawk Marathon, coming in two weeks. It's in Albany. A lot of folks from one of my running groups will be there. Should be fun. But it's going to hurt. Like hell. I'm not in 3-hour shape, but I will attempt to go sub-3. We will see! We will hurt. But it's all good.

Don: Nice speed in the 5K!

Me...

4 mile run early this morning with tempo pacing in the last two miles.

Great day, y'all!

DOR for me but weekend recap:

Saturday: Simulated 70.3ish with a group of us doing IMAZ. Good swim (40 min for 1.4 mi), tough bike course (16 avg over 55.6 hilly miles) and for me a smoking run (2:17 over 12.8 miles). I have never felt this good/strong on a run post bike ever. I must have looked shell shocked and normally look more like death since everyone commented that I looked really strong on the run. Go figure. Was a BIG mental win for me and that is what I am putting in the bank and taking out to Tempe with me for 26.2 in about 8 weeks.

Sunday: scrapped the 1 h 30 min on the schedule for the bike. Lots of long miles lately for me and I really think my body needed a break. Labor day weekend did 85 ride (Sat), long swim Sun and 16 mi run (Mon) then Pumpkinman 1/2 on 9/11; then 100 mile ride 9/17 and 14 mile run 9/18 then the half this weekend.

Back to reality thoughthis week. 17 mile run (Th) and 80/2 brick (Sat) coming up along with 2.8 mile swim (Sun).

I totally agree with you on that one, Thor.

Masters swim for me this morning. 3000y with LOTS of non-free stroke work. Got to say, my free is never better than when I mix it up with the other 3 strokes.

4x200 as 100 swim (odd-free, even-IM), 50 drill, 50 kick

4x200 on 10sr as odd-free DPS, even-IM
8x100 on 10sr as odd-free DPS, even-IM
12x50 on 1:00 as odd-free DPS, even-stroke/free

That last bit was supposed to be 16x50, but we ran out of time. Only 4 minutes shy of completing the workout! I probably should have spent less time at the wall between sets.

Thanks Thor - and everyone else.

Basic daily run toady and off to work. I was going to run longer but I mistimed going out and didn't leave myself enough time. I may pre-run the Xterra half marathon course tomorrow with a friend.

MQ - keep up the great work! I am excited for you!

Nothing for me today. I worked on hanging some photos after feeling a bit better last night. Mistake. I was in a constant pain this morning. Visited Doc, still waiting for x-ray result. I was told there would be nothing to be done anyway even if it was broken. So just wait till it feels better. A few weeks, or could be months.... Never been medicated this much in my life I think - both Celebrex and Tylenol w/codeine.

Yosh - hang in there

MQ - rock on!

DOR for me. Good thing, feel seriously beat up. Not deeply fatigued like the long stuff, just sore in lots of places. Good news is PF is no worse after the race than a normal workout

NICE! You doing the full or half? Guessing full. Have you done it before? I hear it is among the fastest around. I am honestly not to excited to beat on a bike path for 26.2 miles, but hopefully the river will be visible for some scenery.
