Fun little 3-day for me this past weekend. Had to drive up to Grandma's on Thursday to take her to the doctor. Well, now, this is kinda silly as we had to go back up Saturday evening for a tour on Sunday. So son1 and I decided to "go green". Son1 rode up on Thursday to meet me and we stayed overnight. Friday we rode home, logging 85mi. Celebrated son2's 17th birthday. Saturday, we rode back to Grandma's, logging 86mi. Very enjoyable evening visiting with Grandma, two aunts, my cousin and her husband. We decided that since the start was only 2.5mi from Grandma's it was kinda silly to drive, so we all decided to ride from Grandma's.

Being a fall tour, Hancock Hundred has had a history of not so favorable weather--highs in the 90's or cold and rainy, and always with stupid windy conditions. However, this year conditions were perfect. 62* at the start, 75* at the finish, sunny to partly cloudy and NO WINDS! Aunt, cousin and her husband logged 40mi for the day. Son1 and I opted for the fully century. It was a typical tour, with stops longer than usual. It was good to be back on "home turf" and I was able to visit with some of the guys that I rode with back in the 80's. Fun little tour.
