I made yesterday a rest day. I think I kind of crashed into the fatigue wall Saturday and ever since it just feels like my body needs rest. Plus my sinuses seem a bit off and clogged this morning, so maybe I've got some slight bit of sickness weighing me down some?

I'll just take it easy again today, hope to run tomorrow. A little bit of laziness isn't a bad thing to let the body recover and the mindset recharge too even.

'Morning all.

Got 4.5 on the 'mill yesterday. Had planned on doing weight training in the evening when I got back in, but I was so exhausted from happenings over the weekend that it just didn't happen.

I do have some dumbbells to take to work with me today... hoping to be able to incorporate some of my weight training there.

zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Is it Friday yet? Someone wake me when we get there, please....

Heya heya. No run yesterday. Like most Sundays, it was a day of rest for me. Because of today's crappy weather, I'll probably do today's run on the TM. I'll try to get in about 6-7 miles, if I can get that much time on the machine. We'll see...

Some nice racing this weekend, folks..

Supposed to run with the group later but I guess it'll depend on how bad the weather is. We're supposed to be getting a lot of snow. I guess I could go out on my own before it hits. Seems odd that I can run during the day now that DH is off work.

Did I mention I used my Garmin the other day on my run? I really need a crash course in that thing. I did manage to log the run somehow and see it on a map afterwards. Neat. I can't wait to figure out how to use it better.

Congrats again to Cactus, Tim, Brandy, Baggs, Pacer, and my Icicle running buddies -- some good runs all around this weekend!

Congrats to the Disney runners, the Icicle folks, and Cactus. Sorry I couldn't make it down to DE!

Got a nice long run yesterday afternoon, got 15+ from Chestnut Hill down to the Falls Bridge - I was hoping it would be lit up (they just put them on last week), but it wasn't quite late enough.

15 comfortable @ 7:20 pace. That put me at just over 68 for last week which is (just barely) a new high.

Tonight? I dunno. Something easy. Maybe 6.

Good Morning Everyone...the cold fronts on its way, the cold fronts on its way!!! This should be a much nicer week of running down here, the way it is supposed to be in January in S. Fla.

The long term forecast for Miami has it at 66/82 degrees for the marathon, yuck. I'm planning on "running" not "racing" the 1/2 but it would be nice if would be a little cooler.

Congratulations to all of the racers this weekend, all in all, it seems like most everyone had great runs!

Today is a double day, 6am-4pm. Both at recovery pace, so nothing too exciting here.

Have a nice rest/running/cross training day everybody!

Morning!

My training plan calls for 2 miles. I had to laugh when I saw it, it's been awhile since they've given me 2 milers. Still, since it is a bit slippery outside, that's a good distance to take indoors on the track and push my pace, and then hit the machines. I gotta get someone to show me how to use the rowing machine, that looks like a good way to get an arm workout in addition to working my leg muscles.

You can do it, Maples! Trust me, I know how hard it is to get restarted after a funk. Would rewarding yourself for doing all 4 days help? Not with food, but maybe a new running gadget or even a new dvd or cd?

I haven't seen the results from the Philly Pholks 10 miler, but there would have to be some ass-kickin' results to top Cactus' huge half marathon PR...more than a minute per mile improvement?! Dang!

Dsiney went OK for me - it was fairly humid, especially if you've gotten used to northern weather. My groin/hammy was not doing so hot - it kind of flared up every now and then during the race. At its worst I was pretty certain I'd have to step off the course, but then a mile or two down the road it would loosen up enough to convince me to keep going. It tightened up pretty good once I stopped running so I think I'm taking the next few days off to see how it responds. I was glad to finally shake Baggs' hand, though I didn't get a chance to see Brandy - I hope they had an enjoyable trip. I saw SRLopez before the race - he said he ran his half marathon PR on Sat so he seemed pretty pumped about that. I had a good group and enjoyed the run despite my leg, and of course it was great to catch up with the other pacers.

What were the other highlights of the weekend - I didn't see the results of the Icicle 10, how did everyone enjoy it?
