Morning!

Wow....you guys really hit it out of the park this weekend. I am so thrilled for everyone! Great job peeps!

Me? I walked yesterday for about 45 mins. Meh. Yoga tonight, which I *badly* need. That will feel great...

Other than that? Not much here. Anyone? Bueller?

G'morning folks. 10.25 beeeeeeautiful miles yesterday. It was cool enough to wear my arm warmers and liner gloves. Lublublubbed it!

Core is done for the day. Weights + spinning + pullups/drop downs are still on the menu.

Grats again on the hard work this weekend guys!

Fitness for me today? Painting. And probably some core stuff and a walk with Gus while the rest of the trim dries so after I can start trimming in the walls.

Apologies in advance, as I'm sure my feeble brain will forget someone...

Congrats to Big G and Bob for the PRs! Moonie for the excellent pacing! RFTL for a possible BQ!!! KP, Crane, Brandy, Litch, Maria, Missy, Maureen, and Jill for awesome races! Gosh, I hope I didn't forget anyone!

Great efforts all around. Happy for all of you!

As for me, I had a nice tempo 4 miler on Saturday and a great 8 miler yesterday. And an incredibly painful sports massage in between. My hamstrings and inner thighs are BRUISED to all hell. I know the pain will be worth it in another couple of days, but egad. I am perched on my chair because I can't sit normally and have my legs touch the seat. It's that bad.

Happy Monday, all.

Yes, big kudos again to all of our racers!

Theia - good lord that is awful. Another reason I don't like massages....

I had a great yogalates class. My balance is terrible, but I'm getting there. My hammies really appreciated the stretching too. Rest day for me - although I'll do core work and probably a few laps with GOTR tonight. I am going to try to amp up the miles a bit this week to make up for my 15 miles last week.

Gack! I forgot to congratulate Mindi!!! Sorry, sweetie.

I know the massage will be worth it. The first time this woman massaged me was very similar.... but 5 days later I got a 5 minute HM PR. So I cry and wimper and hold onto the sides of the table for an hour plus and know that she's doing my muscles a world of good.

Oh! One noteworthy thing about yesterday's long run. Pretty much all of my long runs incorporate a MONSTER hill. I go down on the way out and come back up 5-10 miles later on my way back, so my paces are always off for the second half of the run. Yesterday my running partner and I NEGATIVE SPLIT that bitch! Ahhh yeah. (Going down actually felt worse because my hamstrings were so sore, and the impact of running down a steep long hill just about killed them.)

Grr. Tried to post a whole long list of congrats last night and my computer/internet had other plans. In class now and no time to write, so my apologies for the blanket congrats -- you guys had an awesome weekend of racing! Jealous!

Morning. Great weekend of running around here. It was a blast being a part of the Twin Cities Marathon Weekend. Lots of great performances, PRs, and BQs. Just a great weekend of good friends, good running, and good beer. Congrats to everyone on some great running!

Bob got in Friday and we did a quick lap around the lake, then to the Twins game. Saturday, got up and went to the TC 5k. Decent run for me, fast than last year and a top 25 finish. I tried to hang with the lead girl, but wasn't happening.

Sunday (I ran without a chip) I was pacing a friend of mine to her BQ. Went 23 miles at about 8:15 pace. Good day and the legs felt great.

The results on the TCM site aren't working. Here's another link: http://www.marathonguide.com/results/browse.cfm?MIDD=58101003

morning

I am just chilling here on a day off from work. I'll run in a wee bit

Yesterday went pretty dang good for me. I felt comfortable mechanically for most of the race with only 2 real issues, a side stitch at about 4.5 and my body not liking the water at the water stop at 8 miles.

The weather however was PERFECT for me and I ran just what I wanted to. I let the garmin lap and from the get go was about .1 over the mile markers.

We got to the dome later than I feel comfortable with and I had to pee 20 min before the start (which for the first wave was at 7:09) I was in the second wave and got out of the porta john at 7:09. I was able to walk into the starting area with 2 min to spare!!

Mile 1: 8:36

Mile 2: 8:22

Mile 3: 9:05 (Franklin Street Hill and bridge...took it easy...too early in the race to charge up a hill)

Mile 4: 8:37

Mile 5: 8:51 (more hills)

Mile 6: 9:02 (St THomas Hill)

Mile 7: 8:58 (climbing Summit)

Mile 8: 8:34

Mile 9: 8:50 (oye, close to throwing up - backed off a wee bit to gain some composure for the last mile)

Mile 10: 8:19

extra 0.1: 49 seconds

And thus begins the work week from hell. Supplier dinners Tues, Wed and Thurs, all day mtgs with suit & tie on, no idea when I'll find time to run...I'm not a happy camper for the next 5 days!

That said - a good weekend in MSP - great weather, a free beer with Brandy after the race, good run, etc. Congrats to the other runners - sounds like some good results out there (BQ's and PR's!)

Morning Gang -

Big shout out to all the racers this weekend. Missy - you are amazing getting out there for a 5k so soon after baby arrived! Woot! Litch - fabulous HM!!! Jill, nice HM PR, even if it sounds like the official results are screwed up. Mindi - nice 5ks. It is so fun to see you enjoy racing and with your son too!

TCM racers were awesome! Pacer, right on the money as usual. Brandy ROCKING her 10 mile! You are getting super fast, girl! Crane finishing her marathon without walking at all - woot!! Bob smashing his PR with a speedy 3:44:xx! Big G getting a huge PR and Moonie assisting with the pacing! And KP kicking butt (and planning on kicking some more in two weeks!). And Baggs pacing his friend to a super speedy BQ for her! What a great day for everyone! It was so much fun. Yesterday was what marathoning is all about. I love it!

Race report is up on my blog: http://runninfromthelaw.wordpress.com/

I'm actually not too sore at all. A little stiff, but no major aches and pains. Nothing injured. Yeah!

Soooooo proud of all this past weekend's racers!!!! You are doing an unbelievable job and keeping the motivation levels HIGH!

Today I'm resting from running and hitting the yoga studio - have all sorts of body parts that need stretching and strengthening.

Mindi - what I found to help my balance most is to use a stationary object as my complete visual focus. Burn a whole in whatever it is with your vision, look that intensely.

Howdy, guys. As y'all can tell, lots of fun was had here in Minnesota this weekend. I'll write up a Race Report (with the requisite BobCam shots) after I get home. For now, I'm at MSP waiting for my flight, which is delayed. Hooray.

It was great to see everyone, and as Moonie said, B & B were awesome hosts. TCM was a beautiful course and a fun race to run. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an October marathon in the coming years.

I feel pretty good now. Not very sore at all. I might even "run" a couple miles after I get home.

Big congrats to all the runners this weekend, in MN and elsewhere. See y'all again after I'm back in NJ...

afternoon peeps.

my legs are really sore today, so apparently as poor as my effort was yesterday, I was putting in some effort. I don't think I'll check my race results...I don't really need to know how badly I finished. All up from here, right?

Congrats again to everyone.

Look carefully in the boBCam shots around mile 10 and see if you can spot me. When you inched ahead of me I could see you taking bobcam shots and I was about 5 feet behind you and waving and trying to get in them in the background.
