But I dun wanna!

Spinning should be on tap for this afternoon, but I may just skip it. In addition to going non-stop most of the weekend between the Gold Rush Festival + the high school reunion, Sunday morning I still was out by 8am for my LR. In the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Ow. Steep enough in some of my old stomping grounds that I had to walk downhill for fear of getting off balance and tumbling downhill, and walking uphill in other parts that felt more like hiking grounds than running grounds. Dahlonega was MUCH more hilly than I remember. Of course, traveling by foot as opposed to by vehicle does tend to change one's viewpoint on the terrain.

While spinning would help the calf muscles, I'm so beat that I think the rest overall will be more beneficial. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Weights / core may or may not happen today!

Congrats on another marathon so soon, KP!

I haven't run in a week because of my freakin' upper respiratory infection. I'm still not 100%, but at least I'm good enough to go back to work. I swear, this is the longest that I've ever been affected by a cold or flu or anything like that. Wow.

Anyway, I might be good enough to attempt a run today, but I'm gonna give it at least one more day, just to be safe. I'm not training for anything now anyway, so I might as well play it safe...

Morning Gang -

Congrats KP on another marathon! Nice work! How do you feel?

Uggg, hope you feel better soon boB.

Back to reality for me today. Seattle was super fun. What a great city! Only ran one day, but did tons of walking each day and biked a little yesterday. Back to normal eating and drinking today! Got 6 miles in this morning.

I'm feeling lost without a spring marathon on the calendar. I'm going to decide on one this week for sure!

Good runs and rests to all today.

Congrats, KP!!

2oh, check your email.

I finished my pathetic recovery-week tempo run (you know, the one that's supposed to be EASIER because it's so SHORT??) in tears Saturday and nearly bailed on my friend for our easy/longish run yesterday. I just don't think I'm cut out for this any more. I have no pep in my step and no desire to do anything about it. I may or may not race in 2 weeks. Haven't told coach yet, though.

Hope everyone's doing well.

Hi all - starting to feel the strength work I did yesterday in the form of soreness. I'm sure by this afternoon I'll be waddling around a little bit walking back to the ferry.

Kinda' cool stuff - I logged into my athlinks profile to update it with the Twin Cities results, and for the heck of it did a search for my Malaysia race last year - they actually had the results! That was cool to add to the collection.

Funny thing is that based on the collected results, I still haven't run a sub-50 10K (I did run one for my local 10K race, but they don't have the results posted anywhere, so its kinda' gone into the nether.) I might need to change that before the year's out - good a goal as any to close out the year.

Anyway, good runs, workouts, rest days and/or healing up to all of ya!

Great job Kevin!!!! It may not have gone as you liked but 2 fulls in 2 weeks is a monster feat! Be very proud!

Morning. Well done KP on another marathon.

I wish I was able to sign up for Boston today. Grrrrr. That's what I get for going out way too fast.

Anyways. Another decent week of running in the books. Ended it with a great 18 mile long run yesterday. Bob would be proud, had about 1700' of climbing. It was a little slower than I would have liked (about 8:30/mile pace), but I felt awesome the whole way and would have rather of had the company.

Saturday we had a 10k time trial. There was three of us doing it and it was so hard to mentally run that hard in a non-race environment. I ran it in 40:30, which isn't too bad for me. Probably would have ran about :90 faster in a race. At least that's what I tell myself.

Double double woot woot duck!!!

And a woot again to Kevin - even I kinda' screw up the two week/three week bit on those things, because you could theoretically have three Sundays pass between marathons but have them pretty much two weeks apart (Marathon Maniacs has simplified it to 16 days for their lowest bronze level.)

Kp - how are the legs?

Baggs - sweet 10k time! And I agree -- race atmosphere is good for another 90 seconds.

Ailarie - from the other thread (limited time here, sorry) Nice pic!

I so admire all you marathon runner types. I've come to terms with the fact that I'll never be a marathoner, that 13.1 is the distance for me.

I did 12 slow and steady miles yesterday and am four weeks from my first 1/2 of the season. I was a bit concerned about losing 3.5 weeks to a hammy injury, but the last week of running has gone pretty good, and I've come to terms with the fact that I probably won't PR anything until my race in January or February.

Tonight is 6 miles of tempo running
