Not good. ot good at all. I didn't make it to the start in time. We did leave the hotel room later than I wanted (this is to be expected w/ DW,DS, &DD), but I figured we still had enough time. Website said the race start was at 'Signal Mountain Middle Schol', so we enter that into the GPS, about 20 mins later (20 mins from race start) we get there and it is obviously not the right place. So we back tracked and used the directions on the Website... and couldn't find our way past a certain road... then it was 8:00... so we made a very quiet ride back to the motel room where I climbed into bed and sulked for about an hour. Very, Very depressing/embarrassing. I did get a 4 mile trail run on Friday that basically went straight up Lookout Mountain that almost killed me, but thats the only running I did on our vacation we planned around a race that I DNS.

Ooh. That sucks. I got stuck in Beltway traffic due to an accident last December that made me miss a 10k race. But that was just a local club race, and those are a dime a dozen.

In my experience for destination goal races, one should always case the race morning's itinerary beforehand. I'm kind of obsessive with my preparation, though. DW's learned to put up with it. Even then things still can go wrong. My advice, find another race quickly and put that fitness and anger to good use.

Didn't do the 6 at lunch since I got out of an evening commitment at work. I'm free to run at home which is what I will do.
