Daily run after work. In addition to the various scrapes on my arms and legs, I think I bruised my ribs in the fall yesterday. They didn't start hurting until several hours after I got home from the race, but it's making it difficult to take a deep breath. Feels a little better today than last night.

Thor: I do know the drill. I've taken many tumbles in trail races. The last 2 races of the Fall Series have many miles of very tough footing and I've only got through 1 race unscathed in all the years I've done them. Yesterday's fall was harder than most I've taken because I was running very fast when it happened. The trail went from bright sun and sandy footing to dark shadows and very rocky on a downhill section. I hadn't quite adjusted my eyes when I fell hard. I got up and kept going, but I was more cautious and that cost lots of time. I think I slowed down at least a minute per mile for the next couple miles before trying to pick it up near the end. One of my regular rivals ended up beating me by 10 seconds. I'm still 3rd AG for the series and unless I really mess up badly I should be able to maintain that. No chance to catch the guy in 2nd, and he has no chance to catch the guy in 1st. The only way I could move up is if one of those guys doesn't do the final race. Two of my teammates are 1st AG, but they have no serious competition. The other guy couldn't finish the race yesterday, so he's out of the series for indiviual awards. The team is in 2nd and all we have to do is finish the next race with 3 people to hold that spot. No chance at first unless they DQ as their top 2 men are also the top 2 men overall in the series.
