Good morning, TEAM!

Otts: Nice mountain run over the weekend. Feeling ready for Catalina?

Alaska Mike: Good to hear that it's coming around, especially when said after such a solid hill session on the TM. And thanks, again, for posting the workout. I kick aside the good ones, and that was a good one!!! For when I get back to the 'mill for more structured work come January.

Yoshi: Nice "return" for you! Must've felt good to get back in the grind.

Weekend recap for me...

Sat: 5K road race. 17:57 (5:47 pace). 7th place overall of 300+. 2nd place AG M40-49. Felt pretty good out there considering this was my first 5K since May, and since I haven't done all that much fast running. Goal was to stay inside Top 10 with a sub-18 performance, and I did that.

Sun: 4.5 mile social run with a few others.

Mon: 4 mile run with some hills. Quick pace on the return leg.

Make it a great start to the week, gang!

@Thor - As read as I'm going to be! I really haven't done aggressive training for this one...my plan was to go into it prepared, but mostly focus on the journey and the experience. We'll see what happens on race day, but I think the training has worked well. Haven't felt completely beat up (well, except for today) and actually enjoyed the training more.

That said, my legs are killing me today so will either do upper body weights only, or just take a DOR.

Equipment: Adidas Adizero Adios

Warm/upper 70s - Sunny and very windy. Upton/Crawford/Security/Widefield to trail to Fountain Creek trail north to MM20 turnaround tp trail to Widefield Park trail to Dean/Grinnell/Crandall/Hubbell/Corliss/Upton/home. Steady pace run interrupted several times by lower abdomen cramps which made me walk for short periods. Not sure of the cause. Stretching afterward.

Holly smoke, Thor, must have felt great to learn the sped you have without much speedwork.

Jen - love your relaxed attitude.

7 miles, just ran the way I felt like. HR still high for the speed but felt nice strides. 0 mpw to 35mpw wasn't smartest last week and I feel some tightness in my groin. But one of those things I think I know will be ok soon. just stay away from the track....

Yosh - slow down there... give it a couple weeks to build back in or you'll be right back there on the disabled list.

Me, ended up in PT instead of my run since I could get in. Can't get my friggin ankles to work quite right, ever since the cross race, and he worked the hell out of them. 1 fixed for sure and the other close and I know what to do. So resting rest of day.
