Morning Millbot and Pro,

Good run this morning Millbot. 6 untimed for me this morning (still hot and humid).

Nice races Johnny and Pro this weekend. Nice ride Hally. A century is a pretty long ride with only a 190 mile base. You're tough.

Hope to pick up about 60 miles this week.

Good Morning Boys!

Nice 5K Pro.

Started out for a 6 mile run . . .When I got to the top of our street, they were back to paving the other side from Friday. So I turned right and started down the main road and was trying to figure out, should I go on the right or left side of the road with the trucks and people working, then thought maybe I should go the other way but they were working that way too and they let a batch of traffic through so just turned around and did 4 miles on my street & side street (1 lap = 1 mile = convenient). At least I got a run in and the since I had a little extra time, straightened up the garage a little bit - bikes, scooter, rip sticks, etc. creeping over too far.

Have a nice day everyone!

No running for me today. My calf is still all cramped up with a big knot in it that I can feel even just pressing lightly with my fingertips. This is depressing. I ate 2 bananas and 2 tums, took an advil, and put a heating pad on it last night for about 15 minutes. Today it's still awfully tight and sore but at least I'm not limping as badly. I have a real fear of ripping it again and having to go through all the physical therapy that I endured starting last Christmas. Please keep your fingers crossed for a quick healing. Tomorrow I'll probably speed-walk on the treadmill; perhaps I'll try a slow jog on Friday.

Best described as a cross between a skateboard and a snowboard, the Ripstik caster board is the perfect ride for kids looking for the next big thrill. The board is distinguished by its pivoting deck and 360-degree inclined caster trucks, which offer a snowboard-like carving ability. A simple weight transfer lets you turn or accelerate without pushing, just like when you're carving down the slopes.

I haven't done it yet, but it looks much more fun than a skateboard. My son can go up and down the driveway never having to take his foot off to push off the ground. Only 1 wheel in front and one in back attached to the center of the board while a skateboard has 2 front, 2 back.

ETA - It looks like when I edit, the picture is here, but then when I save and look in the thread, it's just the link - just call me Big L. Gotta get to work!

Good morning all. I had a great weekend trip to my mom's, but haven't visited here since Friday. I'll catch up later today - looks like I've got some race reports to read. (I have one to write, too ).

No run for me today. Just getting back in the swing of things after a weekend out of town.

Grouchy Susan, maybe a massage would help? The Stick is my favorite way to work out knots in my calves. Well, my real favorite is a professional massage, but I can't always afford that.

Wishing you speedy healing!

I had a weekend full of apples Econo! mmmmm, the smell of cooking apples and cinnamon permeated my home this weekend. It was so yummy.

I think Johnny is flying home today, so hopefully he'll have time to tell us all the details on his major PR!!! He's so out of my league now with his speed. I hope he'll still run with a slow poke like me once inawhile.

{hey Johnny - I was at Grocery Outlet this weekend and they had the Powerbar Gel's you use for 4/$1 for strawberry-banana or 3/$1 for the vanilla ones}

I'll get in a run after work tonight - either a TM run or maybe a lovely outside run with the cool air hitting my face and the light rain falling. . . . . hmmm, decisions decisions. . .

A couple of kids in my condo complex have those rip sticks. It looks a little frenetic when they're being used -- not like fun at all to me! However, they seem to be really popular and whatever gets kids outside doing physical activity is a good thing! Much better than having them sit on Myspace and IMing all their friends like crazy.

Morning, All.

Econo, I hope your yearning for apples doesn't mean what I think it does.
Susan, like millbot says, try some self-massage of the area. If you have a felt pad or some means by which to elevate your heel to take some pressure off that area, I'd try that too. Just cut a piece the size of the heel of your shoe and put it beneath the insert. Also, if you can, do some calf raises. Try both legs at the same time if it hurts doing one leg. Of course, if it hurts at all, don't do it!
Wheeeeeeere's Johnny?

6.2 miles with 2.65 w/u and c/d and ...
Just a hair slow. It was supposed to be 4:20. Too much sponge cake with raspberry/blackberry/apple. Urf. I enjoyed every bite.

Picked up some extra (paid) work this morning. I'm as busy as a goaltender in Phoenix!!!

aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggg! My home computer crashed last week and they just called. Besides the money, they can't save my last 2 years of training logs and my son's bicycle training logs. aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ! Bad me for not backing up the files. I'll use a pencil and notebook from now on. They did say they would give me the old drive and an address to send it off if I wanted to pay and take a chance they are able to save it.

Now Susan and I can be grouchy together.

Nice run, Sans Soucalina! No running for me today. I'm booked for a session in the spare lanes at the pool while DS is swimming with his team.
