Slackers! It's 11 am already here in the midwest, where are all the workouts?

Took the bike out for a 3 hr ride this morning. Legs were feeling pretty good, the hip is angry from where I fell on it yesterday. Twice. Felt good to get the blood flowing in the legs, that should aid in my recovery.

I'm going to skip swimming this afternoon and see about getting in a massage.

Happy Columbus Day everyone!

Dude, I am not a slacker...oh wait, yeah I kind of am.

60min of dance tonight. In the meantime I'll be participating in the 'fight the urge to quit my job' olympics.

about an hour on my bike - the first time back since the end of my season just over 2 weeks ago. Still plan to take it easy this week before getting back into a little more structured stuff next week.

I am tired, not necessarily a slacker. Day of Rest for me today.

Did the Hunterdon Half Iron Distance Triathon yesterday. Tough race, extremely hilly. The weirdest thing happened to me, when I got done with the swim and out of the water (I was wearing a wetsuit), my hamstrings, quads and calves all started to cramp up on me. It definitely affected me for the remainder of the race. Anyone have any experience with this? It is the first time it has ever happened to me.

miles - it happened to me once, not all those muscles at the same time, just calf as I pulled the wetsuit leg out of my leg. Was water cold?

Taking a rest day because I am trying to be good at this plus I have a cold, slightly fever-ish. But the weather was too gorgeous, so went walking in the woods.

Not slacking today, maybe over the weekend though. An hour and change hilly run pushing the stroller this morning. Nice, not a sleeping baby, but a fairly quiet one. Missed my long run this weekend, I took a freelance project with my former employer and just barely holding it together - it'll be over a week from today thank goodness!

I freely admit that I am slacking BIG TIME in the workout department but not in the baking department. Apple crisp and banana bread this weekend.

Will do home PT this evening and am contemplating trying the elliptical for 20 minutes too.

There's something oddly disconcerting about the sound of blowing leaves across the road, and seeing the temp displayed in the car over 80 degrees.

I've got these Computrainer files written by Hunter Douglass, that is a 12 week winter plan to boost FTP. I tried one today just to see how it worked. I've been on the bike twice in four weeks. I recalled a chapter from Running with the Buffalos one of my favorite running books about the Colorado cross country team when Adam Goucher was on it, entitled "Fuck that Shit". That's what I said to myself after awhile and stopped after a 50 minutes. I need to do some more cycling before I tackled that plan in November!

Crazy-busy, but did manage to sneak out for a beautiful lunchtime 5-miler along the river in brand new Mizunos (my first go with that brand, so far so good). This evening it's a bike commute home and then later in the evening a long (for me) swim set at moderate paces. Busy day.

Tapering...did a 4-ish mile run with some 10K 1/4-mile and 5K 1/8-mile efforts tossed in. Really, really, really trying hard not to completely blow my top off at work. Boss is back but my workload won't change much. I get to close out the technology. Lucky me....
