Good morning jill. I may not get a run in today. It is currently 48* and raining. I do not feel like going out in the cold rain.

Jill- Just read your race report. I sounds like you did a great job of holding back like you wanted to. That is a nice time to run.

GREAT JOB WEEKEND RACERS!!!

fuller--48 and rain is perfect weather!

Okay, so I am an idiot. I was up coughing all night last night. Even took a double dose of cough meds with codeine and that didn't help. So waht did I do this morning? Went for a run of course! No coughing, but just couldn't catch my breath so cut it short to just over 3miles. I have a dr's appt this afternoon.

Good morning all!

Sorry about the rain Kevin.

Enjoy the well-deserved rest -- great job on the 10-mile -- can't wait to see how you do in Philly!

Great job to all the other weekend racers too..

Congrats on the PR Asics.

Good job holding on for the BQ Hawk.

Nice job on the 10-miler Plugging Along.

Way to go with the relay Jebba.

I finally managed to get a run in this morning -- been nearly a week off thanks to this cold.

Did an easy 10 miles on the canal -- felt great to be back out there. Cold is still hanging on, but I seem to be over the worst of it.

Mom- Not much worse than coughing all night. Hope the Dr. can help

Loopy- Do you consider yourself a 'running Gorgon' because when you speed past people it makes them feel like they turned to stione? Glad you're feeling better

I'm gonna head out for a recovery 6 when my 'thin' bagels and coffee settle.

Morning all, with today's session I am 14 for 23 in yoga class attendance so far for my 30-day intro. One week left, I'll figure something out this week for after that. Not totally sure about the leg, feels good the last couple of days and I think easy running would be okay. I have some driving for work this week, and how it feels on those drives will likely determine whether or not I go back to the doctor.

Jill - Great splits indeed!

kfuller - Embrace the rain.

4boys - Yikes, rest up. Do you have a race this weekend?

Loopy - Good job getting out there, hope you feel better

BBS - Have a good 6; my wife got those thin bagels, I'll stick with english muffins

Dan - Enjoy the rest

Hope RA and Hawk are basking in some well-deserved rest too!

Dan- When the high temp for the day is going to be 48* and it is getting colder and suppose to turn to snow. That equals no fun. I just walked to the store and it is a steady rain outside. Now the snow I like.

Yeah, I know. Our highest temp the next 7 days is 48 and the night time lows are dropping as well. Thank god my new tights will be here soon.

Yep, another rest day. Actually I feel very good apart from a sore ankle but I have a feeling that sitting at a desk will tighten up my legs. So far, this is the best I've felt after a marathon. I should have pushed hard for a 03:05:xx time First thing DW said after I finished was that I kicked my buddy's ass! He'd just run a 3:08:3x to trump my prior PR. Too funny. I surprised myself with the race that I felt I should have run in 2008, i.e. race the last 10k.

Hawk - congrats on beating Haile and getting another BQ! Bummer that you missed your time but that's the marathon. You were as ready as you could be. Anyway, 3 majors down, 2 to go! This morning I was thinking, "hey, why not do the NYC marathon?" Of course, I'm never, ever doing a marathon ever again.

kfuller - despite what 4boysmom says, 40s and raining is not perfect... 40s and not raining, that's a different story.

zrun - Hopefully the yoga and rest have helped with the hammie. I should do yoga but I look stupid in those yoga pants.

Dan - enjoy the rest

BBS - I like the thin bagels... they are actually a normal serving size.

Loopy - nice job in on the canal. Hope the cold clears up.

4boysmom - you are sick. rest with some chicken soup.

Jill - I love those mile splits. Awesome job!

RA- I agree.

Now it is 39 and raining even harder. Snow is on its way this afternoon. I got in a plyometrics workout I have on DVD. My legs are going to be sore tomorrow. I hope the weather is much better tomorrow morning. I would even take low 30's and snow to what is going on outside now. Rain just gets everyone soaking wet.

4BM- I hope you get better. As RA said, rest up and get better. There is time for running another day.

Great job Hawk and all the other racers this weekend.

Jill, for some reason work has your race report blocked so I will have to enjoy from the home computer.

Loopy, I saw the Gorgon running shirts on line and have them on my christmas wish list. They are way cool.

I am behind on my posts but I did get my runs in last week and had a great run yesterday. I did an hour & half on the trails and felt great at the end. I am no sure of distance because watch died early due to low battery but it was a strong pace and a beautiful day. I did have a small spill when I hit a rock hidden by all the leaves but what's a run without a little endurance test. I also know I had a good pace because the pup was tired at the end and that's usually not the case.

No run today but will enjoy a morning run tomorrow before I head to valley forge (no time for a run in VF park) for a long and boring seminar.

Hey everyone,

I'm back in VA, actually have been for a couple of hours. Unfortunately I didn't have time to check out Marathon Monday Mania before leaving Manhattan. Oh well, it was quite a weekend, though.

I'm sore but not feeling too bad after wearing my recovery tights under my jeans all day today. Either way I'm not hurrying to get back in the "swing of things." For all intents and purposes my 2010 racing season is over, I'm planning to spend the rest of the year doing (for a change) a proper post-marathon recovery, about 3 weeks or so, then start getting ready for 2011 with easy mileage and cross-training. If I do jump into any races before January it will be just for fun. In fact, I've already committed to run a turkey trot 5-miler with DW on Thanksgiving morning. My guess is if we finish in under an hour that will be pretty good.

RA has put me to shame first with his performance, and now with his prompt race report. Jill, too. I need to get busy on mine.

Apple - I sympathize with the "long boring meeting" thing. Apparently I have to attend a 1.5 day "leadership training" seminar starting on Wednesday. I never wanted to be in it because I think these things are always the biggest bunch of BS but apparently my new boss has other ideas and volunteered me. Not only that, because of it I now have to cancel my post-marathon massage scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. I guess that will have to wait until the weekend now. Grrr.

It's late and it's been a long travel day, and I'm too out of energy to comment anymore. Sorry. Nice job running, resting yoga'ing and beating back those colds everyone.
