Good morning BBS. I am running this afternoon. This morning would have been cold and rainy. Hopefully it will not be that bad later. Getting ready to watch NCAA XC Championships in a few minutes.

Hi, all. Big congrats to Hawk and Jebba for yesterday's marathon performances.

Hope your 5 went well, BBS, and hope you get out there Kevin.

Been doing some steady buildup with running and my two new sports. The bike trainer is convenient, but man, is it boring. I'm taking my HIM in June seriously, and start a six-week "training prep" block today, before "real" training starts January 1st. Gonna see what I'm made of.

Morning guys...

Um, I'll be resting today.

Definitely still basking in the glow of yesterday's result. In terms of my time, it was my 4th fastest marathon out of a total of 8 races. But in some ways it was my best race. I ran pretty evenly, didn't fall apart and finished strong. Mile 18 was an outlier at 8:19, but I fought off a crash and got back down to 7:40 in the next mile. Faded to low-8 minute pace in Miles 24 & 25 but got back under 8 in 26 and had a 7:34 pace going for the final 0.45 (for some reason my Garmin says I did 26.45. Oh well.). Interestingly a few weeks ago when I did Yasso 800s, I averaged 3:23 per 800. And my time yesterday...3:23:55. That tells me I ran to the max of my capabilities yesterday. I feel like I finally got some things right yesterday on the race management side...pacing, nutrition, etc. and because of that I was able to dig deep when I had to. Very happy.

And RA -- yes, I'll see you on Patriots Day 2013.

Jebba - great job yesterday. Sounds like you had an enjoyable run. Congrats on another marathon finish. They are all special, aren't they?

BBS - enjoy the 5

kevin - maybe they'll repeat the XC race Universal sports or something tonight so I can watch. Enjoy.

Chances - so you're just trying to keep yourself occupied until January when you go in beast mode? One of these years I'll get a trainer for myself.

The breakfast of champions! Limited Edition Gingerbread poptarts. They didn't have pumpkin pie. Will certainly look when I go grocery shopping at another store.

Mid-day easy trot for me. Feeling MUCH better since I stopped taking my meds. Legs trashed from the swim/bike brick yesterday. Certainly didn't feel like I was running that hard today, but apparently I was. 4.51m, 38:48, 8:36pace. Next run will be the Turkey Trot. Just what do I have in me???

Hi everyone. Just a one mile shake out jog because, you know, why not keep up the streak as long as I am healthy. Legs and feet felt tired but okay. Big chafe-y spot on my thigh hurt like the dickens, though.

4Boys- have you talked to your doctor about playing with your dosage? Maybe you could skip days occasionally (an old doc of mind called them med vacations), or use less. I hate for you to have to choose between running and medicine.

Hawk- a well deserved rest!

chances - I'll enjoy reading about your HIM training.

BBS- we've got wet wet wet weather here, too. Enjoy the TM, if you can.

kfuller- have a good run this afternoon.

Hawk- Ncaa.com may have the replay. The mens race was not very interesting, but the women put on a great show today. It could not have been much closer from 1-10.

5 miles done and it was a nice run. Have a great afternoon everyone.

Just saw the race results from Flying Monkey. My official time was 4:24:05. Second age group, if you can believe it. Sweet!
