Weekend recap for me:

Saturday: 45 minutes spinning on the bike and then 50 minutes on the elliptical. Got to watch the rest of my burn notice season 2 DVD so I can cue up for the next if I decide to get back on the bike after Sunday.)

Sunday: Rest day!! Love those.

Today:

30 minute 3 mile run with the hubster in the a.m. We have not been running together much this season and it was nice to be able to do so this morning. Negative split each mile which left me feeling really good about this taper. (10:30; 10; 9:30)

Have a wonderful day everyone!

MQ - what race are you tapering for?

Me - Rested for most of last week after NYC, with the exception of my Thursday run before heading back to Alaska. My legs are feeling pretty good with the exception of my right knee, which is sore. My coach is pushing me to fully recover now so that I can start up my Boston training fully recovered, rather than go through that training cycle with a lingering injury. The knee is feeling a little better each day, but still not 100% so today is another rest day. Spent about 30 min this morning icing the knee.

Weights and swimming tonight. Could maybe squeeze a short trainer ride in there, too, except I believe all my bike shorts are currently hanging on the Stink Tree waiting for the wash. Well, except for my wool knickers, and there's no way I'm doing a trainer workout in those!

Happy b-day, Thor!!
Mike, I know how tough is to give a complete rest to a concerned discomfort. I'm carrying one of those... Listen to your coach.

8 miles w DH. Easy pace thanks to heavy legs from the race yesterday.
2000m swim. The pool was crowded and shared a narrow lane with another swimmer. Never felt 'free' with my form.

Thanks, Scott. I took the day off from work! My birthday was amazing. Earned me a cash prize on Sunday doing what I love to do -- running in an ultra, took home the 2nd place crown in the Masters division of the USATF New England Ultra Running Championship (not to mention coming in 4th Male overall missing out on double-dip money there! And then Monday, my real birthday, I took the day off from work to do leisurely work around the house and then Margaritas with my honey!!!
