Morning, all. This week is my last in the exercise study, so I have a lot of post-test tests this week. This morning is my resting heart rate and blood pressure. Basically, I have to sit quietly for 30 minutes without falling asleep. As I discovered in the pre-test, I also can't daydream because then my HR dips like I'm falling asleep and the people prod me to stay awake, which is annoying. Anyhow, later this afternoon is my stress/max test. I did 9:48 on the pre-test, so I'm hoping to get to 12:00, but I don't know if that's too much to hope for. I'll just do my best and see what happens. Tomorrow is my last day of exercise and the Dexa scan (of body mass) and Thursday is my muscle biopsy and glucose tolerance test. I've gotta say, I'll be glad when this is all over, but I have been very glad of having to get out of bed every morning to exercise.

In other news, I got a paper rejected on Saturday. I figured it would happen so now I need to see how much I can spruce it up and get it out before I leave for Israel on Saturday.

sounds like fun weekends!!

AK is finally teething.. i think. she has gotten up at 4am for the past 3 days and in general, has been fussy and irritable. yesterday, she woke up between every 45-60 mins between 4-8am which brought me back to those dark, awful days. *shudder* anyhow. we had a busy weekend in the city meeting friends who were in town but we also got a workout - we walked from the Met museum to the east village. yesterday was pretty low key, there was a local art festival but DH and i got into a fight on the way over (darn lack of sleep). but we made up over lobster rolls and gyros so the day still ended well.

ok. i have a situation i need to share. DH's contract for work ends this fall. in all likelihood, it will be renewed. we are also considering of buying a house this year or next, at the latest. the question: do we proceed even though a contract has not been hashed out?

Missy, from what I'm hearing, prices are going to drop again...I'd hold off until he's got a contract. Just in case...you don't want to be stuck with a house you can't sell for the price you paid, whether or not it's in a desirable location. There's are soooo many houses around me on the market that have dropped their prices 10-20% (or more) in the last 2 months alone.

Missy - I agree w/Maureen & Tonya. Couldn't hurt to look around to see what's available for the money but I'd hold off on committing to anything until DH's contract is secured or very, very close to it.

Missy - Ditto!! That being said, go and have a ball perusing the Real Estate listings! It's one of my favorite things to do. When I thought we might be relocating, I could not stay off the MLS. I still peek at "The One" that I found down there.

I expected to see bare naked people in here...

Today is Lena's 4th birthday! We had a party for her yesterday and she really loved it. We got her her very first bike. It has Barbie all over it. And it's pink with white tires. She picked it out herself, can you tell?

Due to scheduling difficulties with the heart doctor, my stress test has been moved to tomorrow and I'll exercise this afternoon instead. These tests are really cutting into my day since I always have to go home and shower afterward. Anyhow, Dexa this afternoon, stress test tomorrow, final tests on Thursday. I can survive.

Missy, in addition to what everyone else has been saying, I think lending companies check to make sure that you'll have a steady stream of income, so if they contacted his employer and they said his contract is expiring soon, you may not get the loan you need to buy. There'll be an awesome house for sale in Columbia, MO next spring if anyone's interested.
