Good morning kicksters!

A great start to the day. I went to the pool this morning with no desire whatso ever to swim. However, I forced myself to get in the water and go. I was scheduled for a 1700 meter endurance swim. I grabbed two pair of goggles and put one on the side fo the pool in case I needed them. My goal was to try and maintiain 55 second laps. I stayed pretty close, I think I was as much as 3 seconds behind at one point but I ended up finishing on target. Total time: 31:08 which works out to 54.9 per lap.

Once I was done, I noted that someone else NEEDED my second pair of goggle more than I did. I guess I donated my goggles to a needed charity. lol

6 mile run scheduled for lunch!

Happy training everyone!

BBS - take it easy.

Dave - Nice swim. Hope you'd already lubed up the second pair of goggles with a bit of spit.

Rest day today. My legs are telling me (a) I need a massage and (b) my Saucony Mirage shoes are harder on them than my Asics DS Trainers. The wear on the Mirage is quite significant at ~100 miles. At this rate, the tread will be shot before 200 miles. Nice value for money...

Morning guys,

Rest day here. Planning to get back at it tomorrow with some trails as I start zeroing in on North Face, but it may be a weird week to get re-started. DW's grandmother is apparently in her final days and we could end up having to fly out to Oregon for a few days at a moment's notice. Not much we can do but await word unfortunately.

Nice day here, 70s or so for the high. I'll probably take advantage of that and walk up to the campus cafe for lunch. The only other "workout" I have planned is to cut the grass tonight. Now that we're getting more consistent spring weather it's time.

Dave - your good preparation (extra goggles) made up for someone else's poor preparation.

BBS - enjoy the summery 7. We'll be in that here, I predict, in about 2-3 weeks.

ETA: RA you sneaky guy, you. Posted while I typed. Interesting about your Mirages. I'm about to turn over my Kinvaras; the old pair has maybe 320 miles on it. New pair almost ready to go.

David--bummer 'bout the goggles.

BBS--looks like after a slow start to spring, someone flipped the switch to summer!

Asics--I never had luck with Saucony.

Hawk--I hear ya about the lawn. But it is nice to have a chore that the kids can't un-do 30secs after I'm done!

Rest day here. Trying to get the house back in shape after being gone over the weekend. Need to order dirt today. Gah... it never ends.

Mizuno Wave Precision 11s. Best running shoe I have put on to date. They used an all new foam for the sole of these shoes which feels superb. They are very roomy in the toe box and have a similar feel to the Elixers but are a neutral shoe. Can't say enough about em. I bought them back in March, I will deffinatley get another pair of these. Try them on next time you are at your running store.

6 1/4 mile run complete. Lack of discipline; again! Running too fast from the start. My goal was to run 8:30s and I started with a 7:55 and 8:06, after that it settled down and I was running 8:30s or so and finished my run averaging 8:21.

Looks like everyone is resting today; except BBS, hope you have a great run BBS!

Rain, rain go away. It has been raining since yesterday afternoon. So I got some stretching in this morning. Starting to get rid of my congestion and such. This cold has just not wanted to go away. I will start running again tomorrow. Nice job on all of the workouts and such.
