Happy Memorial Day. Please make sure you seek out a vet or active service person and thank them for their service. I love being in rural Indiana on this holiday, because they actually do this. Signs everywhere, flags everywhere. Back home in the Chicago burbs there are too many spoiled ass pansies who would rather spend the day debating the politics of a conflict rather than thanking those for their ability to be spoiled ass pansies. As you can tell... those folks drive me nuts.

DOR for me. Yesterdays run was brutal and I bet I lost 5-10lbs - I drank, easily, 4-5 liters through the day and I didn't pee nearly that much. Worse my compression tights all day and night too. However, this morning I'm feeling really good so I think it paid off. Looking forward to the DOR though as I have to get the family back to Chicago today.

Additionally this is PEAK WEEK! WOOT! And looking at this week.... wowza, it's a doozie. I'm going to be a zombie come next Monday! 11 hrs riding this weekend is just the tip of the iceburg. Boyah!

Race day. When I was lined up in my starting wave looking around, all I saw were skinny people. Then I realized I'm now a skinny person too. I felt like I belonged there. Quite a change from when I first ran this race 10 years ago and a 10K was the furthest I'd ever run. This wasn't my best 10K, but it was the best I've done at this race. I felt like I could have gone faster today. It just wasn't there. I was still in the top 10 for 55 year old men. No age groups here, they do it separately for each year.

Warm/mid 50s - Cloudy and windy. Bolder Boulder 10K. Not my best 10K, but the best I've done at this race. New course has slightly more uphill and more turns - didn't like it. Started light rain just after I finished.

Good evening, TEAM LIT!

4 mile run early this morning with the Ironmate for me. That's it. Alergies totally kicking my ass right now. Headachy and all. Didn't help that I spent 5 plus hours in the yard. Had a very nice afternoon and early evening at LRR house but, well, alergies took away some of the fun for me. Head feeling the alergic reactions. No worries, though, it will come and go in a matter of weeks or maybe a month.

Hi Folks!

My first hot ride of the season. 20 miles in 90-degree heat and crazy humidity. My goal was to just survive...and managed to avoid a deer, chipmunk and wild turkey. It was like Wild Kingdom!

Happy Memorial Day. A lot to thank those who fought and fighting for our country.

2500m in the morning before the parade. Started feeling the threshold where my breathing gets really hard (and inhale too hard). Keep telling myself my goal right now is not to get faster, but relax and breathe easily while maintaining a good pace (<1:50/100m) for a long distance. Wanted to ride, but it got too busy around the house. and HOT.

BTW, if anybody has any good recommendations as to how to strip the deck stain/paint, let me know. We did use Cabot and then Behr stripper but did aweful job and now we don't know what to do with the messy decks surface (paint partially coming off). I used quite a bit of elbow greese to scrape the s*Ht off but not lookin good. We should have just clearned it :(

A lot to do to get ready for 10-day oversea trip. Excited but tiring to get kids/DH ready for it.
