Dave- I hope the back is o.k

BBS- have fun with the 6 miles.

4BM- Enjoy the rest day.

I got out for 2 X 15 minutes of tempo. Both felt nice and hard today. I put in a good effort. 2.10 miles (7:10) pace for #1 and 2.11 miles(7:08) pace for the 2nd tempo.

Now time to take kids to school and one to see the docter etc.....

Morning all, quick Monday post for me as it's busy.

It's a rest day for me anyway. I'm beat after a long trail run Saturday and then playing all 90 minutes of our soccer match yesterday. Glad that season is over because it's been brutal; we were forced to play in a division way above our skill level and basically got our asses whooped every week, yesterday it was 10-0.

Jill - to answer your question from Saturday...I am running the North Face Endurance Challenge DC Half Marathon on 6/5. For the most part it's run on the Potomac Heritage Trail in Virginia and that's where I trained Saturday. I think I veered off the course at some point and ended up on a Nature Conservancy trail, so I didn't quite get the "dress rehearsal" I was hoping for, but it was definitely a vigorous trail run, mud, rocks, roots, 14% switchback climbs/descents, and all.

Have good runs all, those who are getting out, or have a restful Monday.

I hit up the doctor's office this morning and came away with meds for a recurring sinus infection. Hopefully that'll prevent my head from exploding and remove the lifeless feeling I've had for a while. I've been feeling tired, fat, slow and generally out of shape. Ahhhh!!! Maybe, just maybe I can get something in today. However; chances of a good showing in my 10 mile race on Saturday are falling rapidly. That kinda sucks... as does my mileage this month.

Dave - Yikes! Hope it's nothing serious. Anything to do with jumping out of an airplane?

Hawk/4boysmom - rest up

kfuller - nice job with the tempo intervals

BBS - easy does in with the mileage increase. It takes me 3-4 weeks to get used to a higher volume.

Thanks everyone. Nothing too serious, just tweaked it on Friday Swimming. Doc seems think it was really due to the long run on Friday morning and dehydration. Anyhow, maybe I should change my Friday swims after long runs.

Prescriptions: Muscle Relaxers and stretching! Just what I have been doing minus muscle relaxers.

RA- I think I am in the same sickness situation as you, except for congestion. Took my son in today and he got meds to keep him from getting pneumonia. I sure hope both of us get better soon. Although after one week of having this sickness I was back to running. Makes me wonder what you and I will be doing running wise once we are not sick anymore.

Hi everyone. I did a very pleasand slow 10.5 miles on the greenway this morning. Ran into a running friend of mine and had a nice chat. He's in his 70s and likes to travel to seniors competitions. He mentioned thinking about getting a coach. I hope I am still that hooked on running when I'm in my 70s.

5.5 trail miles for me this afternoon. Finally talked my running partner into trying trails so I took it easy on her. I'm hoping to get another trail run in tomorrow if it's not too rainy out. It'll be my last mid-week trail run until September when the kids go back to school :(

Dave, how's your back? What did the doctor say?
