Good morning kicksters!

13 mile commute to work this morning on my hybrid bike and then to the pool for 1200 meter continous swim. It had a great swim. I started out at 55 seconds for the first lap and then tried to maintain it throughout the 1200 meters. I would look at my watch everyone 100 meters to ensure I was still on pace. I stayed pretty steady and ended up finishing in 21:53 which averaged out to 54.7 seconds per lap.

And what makes today even a better day - no more OSAMA BIN LADEN

Happy Training Everyone!

Sounds like a well rounded workout Dave.

Rest day for me tomorrow marks the start of training for a Fall marathon. I ran the Flying Pig yesterday, and I think I got what I wanted out of it. Another Ohio marathon checked off of the list, and I'm mostly healthy today. Quads a bit sore from the hills, but I bet I'll be back to 100% pretty quickly. I intentionally held back quite a bit since it wasn't a goal race.

Dave- NIce job on the workout, and Ditti on Bin Laden

MBH- Glad the race went well for you. I'll be glad when I can just stroll through a marathon.

Still raining here. Looks like much the same for tomorrow. Took me 15 more mins to get home this morning due to the flooded roads.

Guess I'll be confined to the TM today for 5 easy paced miles.

Fishbowl this morning. Super easy with pool toys just to get things moving. Somewhere between 3000-3500 as I still haven't mastered counting to 10. Had hoped to mow the lawn this afternoon, however I don't have SCUBA gear for the mower so that ain't happening.

David--nice job in the fishbowl.

Mailbox--ho hum, just another 'thon. What was your time?!

BBS--yah, I've had just about enough of this rain, too!

Oh it wasan embarassingly slow-personal worst by about 10 minutes-3:48ish, but in my defense, I ran the first 5 miles with my little brother in a little slower than 11 minute pace.

Good morning everyone.

Dave- Ditto on Osama Bin Laden. Thanks for serving our country. Nice job on the workout this morning.

I got out for 4.1 miles. I got a cold yesterday with a nasty cough and today is not much better. I guess the nice race on Saturday put the cold in full force. Have a great morning everyone. I am super pumped about the great weather we will be having this week.

Hello all -

Dave - Agreed ! Also, a big thank you to people like you who worked towards keeping us safe and we know it would not had happen without all the sacrifices made along the way. Again, thank you. Yesterday I watched two firemen run a half in full gear plus tanks. They ran the whole race and did it to remind of us 9/11.

Yesterday got a chance to cheer on the runners for the St Lukes Half and that was fun. Never been in a position where I get to see the front of the pack racers challenging each other for first place, so that we exciting.

Jill - heard you were there but missed you.

Last week was a hard week due to losing my friend and running reflected it. Not much to report but did get some miles in. Knee is starting to give me a little trouble so time to start the advil post run therapy. Running tonight at 5 but not sure what is on schedule. Haven't been sticking to a running plan except for the long runs on the weekend.

Hawk - Thank again for the support !!! Hope you had a great time at Broad Street.

Great day all.

Hello all, quick post before an 11:30 meeting.

Great work by all involved on giving OBL his long overdue payback.

I'm not feeling too bad after racing yesterday down Broad Street. Calves are a little sore and I've got a big blister on ball and big toe of my left foot but that's it. Slept like a rock after getting back home to VA last night.

Rest day today. Tomorrow I too switch gears in training just a bit. One month until the North Face Endurance Challenge Half Marathon (6/5). It will be the longest trail race I've ever done. All that said, if I recover well this week, I will almost certainly jump into this Saturday's 5k in my neighborhood. It's a small affair...last year I finished 3rd overall, and this year I want to improve that finish by 2 places. I mean, it's my neighborhood and bragging rights are at stake and all.

Gotta go...meeting is starting. Happy running, riding, swimming resting and whatever else all.

Resting today. Probably get back at it with some easy running tomorrow or Wednesday. I completely trashed the little toe on my right foot. Other than that and a bit or soreness in my hips, I feel pretty good. DW is having "fun" walking up and down stairs :)

Hawk - rest up. Nice job toughing it out yesterday

Apple - baby the knee

kfuller - nice job on the 4 and a bit. I too have a nasty cold. I was fine during the marathon but by the end of the day my nose and throat was ready to explode.

Mailbox - nice training run ;)

4boysmom - good job in the bowl

BBS - enjoy the 5'er later

Dave - nice double. Yep, great day!

Great job out there everyone!

At lunch I headed out for my scheduled 5 mile recovery run. I set my watch to alert me when my pace got faster than an 8:30 pace. Off I went and immediately is was telling me to slow down. It took me a while to fall into a good pace and keep the pace in the 8:30s. Mile 3 was the hardest as the first 1/4 mile was up a steep hill and my pace slowed dramatically. My splits were 8:29, 8:33, 8:55, 8:30, 8:29. My total run was 5.23 miles with an average pace of 8:35. It felt good.

Hi everyone. Tummy ache, so only one mile today. It's weird (for me) to feel relief at the death of another person, even someone as evil as Bin Laden. But I am relieved.
