Wow...noon has passed and no thread?

Rest day here.

I never reported on the race yesterday. It was quite the experience. Rain started as I was driving over to the lake, picked up slightly as I warmed up. Then it really got heavy, just in time for the start. At least it wasn't cold...if anything I was quickly regretting my decision to wear a short-sleeve tech tee rather than a singlet as it got weighted down by the rain. And so it went...we splashed our way out 6k, then back to where we started. The pack strung out and positions, at least among the top 10, didn't change after about 2 miles. At the turnaround I counted myself as being 9th, but the official results say I was 8th...did somebody DNF? 3rd among the master's men.

I thought it was a very good result, even though my time was a full minute slower than last year on a dry trail. Best compliment I got all day was from one of my friends who was volunteering, who said racing in these conditions was totally bad-ass.

A volunteer was snapping pictures near the finish. I'll have to post the one of me in all my muddy glory if they ever share it.

Hoping everyone's enjoying their runs, rests and whatever else.
