The day after an important anniversary.

195 years ago yesterday, Napoleon told his troops to march forth.

Day off for me today, and unlike the last two Mondays where I was recovering really well after 20+ milers, I had to get up in the night to take Advil for muscle cramping. Moving slowly today.

Hope you all are okay. Have good runs!

Hi all,

I'm at about 80% with the cold/flu/whatever recovery. Not good enough for a run today. I did take my neighbor's chocolate lab for a 2 mile walk though. Even that was a struggle.

I swear one of these days I'll actually be able to run again!

6 miles on the treadmill with 4 at marathon pace. My legs were leaden-feeling the first half, but eventually they came around.

6.03 miles at lunch today. Round Trip was 50:21 for an 8:21 pace but I got stuck in traffic for almost 30 seconds and I took a 30 second water break so my time was actually 1 minute quicker.

Today's nature sighting: I had just turned into the woods and about to head around the lake/pond that has a nice trail and I heard noise from the water line. I slow down to see what it is and a I see an alligator head sticking out of the brush and trees. I stop and look at it. He looks at me, decides not to mess with 100 mile man and heads back into the water after fighting through the branches to get turned around.

That is the first time in 6 years of running at UNF that I have seen an alligator in that pond. Definitely a cool sight.

FB, that would have been SO cool. I love seeing animals in their natural habitat like that, even gators. And as you know, I have a special affinity

Meri, gators only eat about once a month, on average. So the real question is, do you feel lucky? do ya?
