BBS - we experienced that weather yesterday afternoon in Tennesse and overnight in Kentucky. Enjoy the hill repeats.

Got in a quick 3 miler with DW and DD in the BOB yesterday. Still traveling today so "resting" with DD screaming and MIL's terrible nay horrific driving.

Slow day here!

BBS--woke to thunderstorms here, too. Bumming that it's a rest day cuz I love running in rain!

Asics--that sweet baby screaming? Not believing it!

FB--nice and steady there.

Nuthin' here. Planned post-race rest day. Not feeling too bad which can only mean I didn't race hard enough yesterday. I have logged 3hrs of cleaning the house already. Need to head out and do some yard work before it gets too hot.

Good morning all.

BBS - Sounds like a great day for a run!

RA - Gotta be nice to get out there with the family for a run.

FB - Nice workout this morning.

4BM - Enjoy the rest day. Well deserved.

kfuller - Nice job on your run this morning. Now get out there and work that core!

Me - Hot and humid! 77* and 90% humidity! It was a rough one. Today was a track workout. I decided last night it would be mile repeats. My goal was to complete 4 progressively getting faster at 6:30, 6:15, 6:00, 5:45. It didn't quite workout as planned but I will take it in this heat. I ended up with 6:25, 6:10, 5:58, & 6:13. I just didn't have anything left for the last one, I held 5:45 pace for the first lap and then it started going downhill. But it is the first I run at those speeds for a mile so no worries.

Have a great workout everyone!

52mins with 10 hill sprints. Now off to the weight room. Then napping, cleaning up the house after the weekend, and mowing the lawn. Not sure what order, but it definitely needs to get done.

Morning all, just flyin' again...busy work day to follow up a busy weekend.

I have nothing specific planned today - I could just rest and indeed I might - but I packed a bag of gear just in case I feel up for a run anyway, and if I can escape the office for a bit. I wouldn't mind an easy 5-6 mile recovery run even though it's humid out there.

Saturday I had hoped to run long but ran out of time for that. But I did have time to hit the roads on the bike instead. Finally had a good ride with the new road bike. After downloading tech info on the Shimano Ultegra gears I confirmed what I had suspected, that my shifting problems were a result of "operator error." Better educated, I had a good 14.4 miler over the course of an hour ride through the neighborhood. Now I just need to get out on the W&OD so I can really get some speed. Riding through the neighborhoods keeps the overall mph down with all those stop signs and blind corners.

Yesterday - soccer, first time in a while for me. 45 minutes on the field at forward. I played well and we won. And we were done in time to catch the World Cup final. I will say this, our game was probably more exciting with a 6-4 scoreline than the choppy 1-0 game played by Spain and Holland. Oh well.

BBS - hope the wx holds up for you. We're expecting that later in the evening

RA - perhaps DD's screaming and MIL's driving are related?

Jill - have a good rest day, I know you've been working hard as always.

Dave - those are still pretty good repeat times

kevin - sounds like a nice 6 miler

4bm - some "rest" day

FB - way to power through the humidity

I got soaked, but I got my 5 in, and I didn't get struck by lightning, which is always a plus

RA- Sorry to hear bout the MIA, I lucked up and got a great one.

4BM- Have fun in the yard

Kevin- Nice job on the 6 miler

FB- There were some pretty hardcore looking runners at that Pensacola race I went to, I wasn't expecting that kind of turnout.

Jill- Enjoy the Monday

Dave- Did you do recoveries between those miles?

Alex- Napping? Theres no time for napping!

Hawk- Hope you can squeeze that recovery in. I'd be one big error on a road bike... I have no clue, maybe they got one of those "road bikes for Dummies" books

Hi everyone. My marathon training starts today. Thurderstorms and two kids meant a run on the treadmill at the Y. 11 miles total, starting a 10mm and ending a little less that 9:30 mm. Pretty relaxed the whole time.

Yard work ended poorly. Hubby came out and asked if I knew why the phone didn't work. Um... uh... maybe that's what that cable was... I had hit it with the hoe. It was only about 6inches down. Seems to me it should have been buried deeper than that!
