Morning

I got an easy five on tap for today. Back to my 'nomal' schedule tonight. I finally got those push ups and sit ups in yesterday, 120 p/us, 150 s/us. I'm gonna try and keep a log on how many of those I do in 2012.

Fishbowl this morning. WU 500, 10x50 with 15sec recovery, 250 recovery, 10x50, CD 250. Not exactly where I want to be but I've taken several weeks off from serious stuff so I'll take it.

We got the first real snow of the season overnight. Not really measurable, but roads are covered and SLIPPERY! Nuthin' like trying to stop and having the van go sideways. Son1 bought a car last week and said he's thinking about calling off work tonight because roads are too bad. Nah. We'll get him there!

Morning BBS & 4BM,

I slept in today, am having breakfast now and will go 10 easy in a short while. Cold and windy outside but it's clear, no sign of snow.

BBS - I hear you on the "back to normal" thing. Same here, or at least what passes for normal in my present "between jobs" state. Have a good 5.

4bm - nice job in the pool. Maybe not a big workout for you but a serious workout just the same.

Good morning all.

BBS - Enjoy your 5 miler.

4BM - Nice job in the pool. I am going to start back again tomorrow. I haven't been in the pool since Ironman louisville.

Hawk - I slept in this morning as well. Enjoy your 10 mile run.

Me - Last day off work; slept in and then headed out for a nice little 6 mile run. I am running a Half Marathon on Saturday and I am surely not ready to race it. The plan will be to make it a progressive run starting at 8 min mile and increase the pace by 5 seconds per mile until I can't increase the pace anymore.

Happy Training everyone!

BBS -- January 2nd, a return to normalcy, whatever that is. Looking forward to the pushup/situp log.

Mom -- I'm with Hawk, that looks like a pretty strong workout.

Hawk -- Nice mileage on tap there. Enjoy.

Update: They've raised my niece's body temperature and allowed the sedatives to wear off. Her vitals are very good, and she's moving and trying to talk. All very good signs at this point. :)

Been a trying couple of days. Think I need a run.

Chances - great news!

Dave - I'm in the same boat with a HM in a couple of weeks.

BBS - nice totals for pushups.

Hawk - have fun with the 10. It's cold and windy here too. I'd gotten usedf to the milder temps such that 20s feels artic. It'll feel balmy come March.

4boysmom - nice slacker pool workout.

The gym will be a zoo so I plan to hit the indoor track and hope no one swipes my gear again. The plan is for 5-6 miles with some strides but probably end up running faster.

Good stuff for the 2nd day of 2012.

5 easy miles with the pup on the trail. You can tell it's a holiday because there were a lot of runners on the trail for a Monday. It was a good run and spent the run trying not to think of stuff, just concentrate on my movement. It's harder than ya think.

Chances - sounds like improvement

Dave - you'll do fine

BBS - you have inspired me to try the at least a mile a day thing also. I am going to see how far it goes.

Hawk - same weather here, even dressed a little too warm for the sun

4boys - aquawomen as always

I am having trouble with my Garmin. The garmin program won't start up on the computer to download my data. Hoping I don't lose any history!

Great news Chances!

Nice work out there everyone. Got my 10 in. It was a slow slog on legs that just weren't feeling it today, plus I had to fight off a little GI distress the final 3 miles. But it's done. Warming back up now with a hot chocolate.

Mmmm, hot chocolate. I'd be all over that, except I'm trying to minimize/eliminate liquid calories until my weight gets back to what I want it to be.

Chances, fingers still crossed!

10 easy for me, too. It was cold and windy. Felt fine during and after, but about 2 hours later I was chasing after the kids in the science museum and just about hit the wall. Hello afternoon coffee.

I got in a nice 5 mile run this morning at 8:52 pace. Finished putting together a training plan for Feb/March. First race is at the end of March. Then went to the planetarium and got the year membership together that was a present for christmas. Then we watch a 40 minute 3-D show on Flying monsters/ flying dinosaurs.

Nice job on all the running and have a great afternoon.

Happy New Year, everybody.

My weekend was work-filled so I was finally able to get out today. DW cooked a great but filing French toast and sausage breakfast and it kind of sat around for a while. I went to the track about two hours later, but felt awful four laps (1 mile) into the run. I walked one lap then started up again. Got in eight more revolutions before calling it quits. Three miles. Strange run.
