Can't sleep -- too much on my mind, so . . . . guess I'll take the honor of starting today's thread.

First, congrats to all racers and some of you runners yesterday -- many of you with various ailments, cruddy conditions, or both. You inspire. I spent so much time on here yesterday reading up on reports that my lovely wife's half-convinced I'm having some sort of internet affair.

"No, honey, we talk about running."

"Just running?"

"Yes."

"So, what, you say 'I ran ten miles today', and that's all? That can't possibly take forty-five minutes!"

"No, we say something like: 'Did ten today, 2 easy warmup, with six at tempo pace, 2 cooldown. Looking forward to intervals, recovery, pace run, and long runs as well. Question: Does everyone here use a benchmark of 75% to 85% of max HR on their threshold runs?' Then we read everyone else's post, respond to as many as we can, ask questions, trade ideas and strategies, talk a little trash, and generally encourage one another to run and be fit, healthy and happy. That takes forty-five minutes."

"Oh."

No travel this week, and I intend to take advantage. So six easy miles, in the snow. (Which doesn't bother me, much). Will try to get in good mileage the rest of the week.
