Nice weekend swims by DD. The 50 free was a smoking race ... girl in the lane next to her jumped the gun and started fractionally early (yes, she was DQ'd), but DD still managed to out touch her ... not bad for spotting her a couple of tenths

Looking at a Big East quad meet from this past October, she would have beaten a finisher or two from a D1 college program in a couple of events... not bad for an 8th grader

Nicely done!

DH is a bit under the weather & breathed oddly/moved around last night a lot. Had to resort to pseudoephedrine yesterday afternoon to try to get my head unstuffed. Both of these kept me from getting much sleep last night. Lots of rest, but maybe only an hour or two of sleep. Meh. This happens every now & then & I'm getting much better at rolling with it...somedays you just have to take what you can get (this happened the night before my last half-iron, not at all optimal but all was OK).

Went to early morning masters swim anyway since I was pretty much already awake. I was highly motivated to attend because this morning was the 1 hour swim & I wanted badly to see where I was at. Picked a pace I thought I could sustain & then really picked it up during the last 10 minutes. Managed (we think...there's some question with the timer's sheet) 3175y. So, plus the 25y to get back to the start & a 200y warm down, I got in 3400y total.

This evening, I hopped on the trainer for an hour, including 6x90sec >110rpm with 2 min recovery and 2x 5min Tabatas with 5 min recovery between (hard gear/high cadence (>85rpm) for 40 sec followed by a 20 sec recovery). These got my HR well into zone 4.
