NOW the fun can begin! Gobi's taking a break from all that running!

I ran 4.4 miles at lunchtime. It was sunny out - mostly. a bit breezy.

did you stay up late to watch the Superbowl Gobi? is American football of much interest over there?

I liked the game, but then I was going for the Packers. But I thought it was a good game. Anytime you can go all the way to the final play of the game and still have some suspense is good. but then if Roethsliberger wouldn't have thrown so many picks, it would have been a Steelers dominated game for sure.

eta: Hi Jimmy! enjoy your absolute nothing day - straight up and with a twist.

Day two of going to the new gym.... had my fitness assessment with the trainer today... she had me do some of those Doodley Squats... I didn't have the heart to tell her I used to those for a living...literally...

Yeah, I'm all for Monday being canceled. Yoga class was less than stellar this morning and I just couldn't get my groove on for the elliptical this afternoon, after the random flailing of limbs with the trainer. I guess I really don't have much patience for Club Testosterzone....

Meh, haven't run since last Wednesday, can ya tell??

On to Tuesday....

Most Mondays should be cancelled, but if we did that, then we start picking on Tuesday. Then things would just start getting out of hand...

I've spent almost the entire day stuck to my desk chair as I write a presentation I have to give next week in Colorado. Today was the only day I could do it since I'm booked solid with other stuff until the presentation day. I'm not used to sitting this much. It hurts.

A short RAW on tap for today. The recovery kind.

Did 6 mile progression run this morning. It was grand! I have to celebrate every run that doesn't require the TM. Based on forecasts, I'll probably be back in the gym tomorrow. Many of our side streets are down to one lane.

After going easy yesterday, I was ready for a hard run today. The plan was to try and run 8 miles in my 60:00 on the treadmill. The fartherest I have made it so far was 7.84 miles. Since I am doing all my runs at 3% incline, I am starting a little under 9 minute pace as I get warmed up so I really have to work the last part of the run to overcome the time lost.

After the first few minutes, I really pushed the pace as I wanted to get to 7:30/mile as fast as possible. I made it a little before 3 miles which I hit in 24:04. That meant I had to make up 94 seconds the rest of the run. My next two miles were 7:26 and 7:18 so I still had 78 seconds over the last 3 miles. I pushed the pace closer to 7:00 and by 7 miles, I needed a 6:56 last mile to make it. I did just a little faster and ended up with 8.01 miles. My total elevation gain was 1,266 ft and heartrate topped out at 93%. It's scary how great my legs are feeling. I may have to start looking for a race to do in a couple weeks.

I know what you mean, Mike. I got to run outside again this evening. It was probably about 40 out there, and I got a few strange looks when I came back into the Y. One guy in the locker room asked if I was cold out there. Nope, perfect, I said.

That was after a perfect 45-minute swim, which just amazes me lately, how much I've enjoyed swimming. I loved the feeling of smooth movement and tried to remember it while running.

Good running, Gobi, but Rangers????? Harumph!

I'm still managing the outdoor runs..... -4°C and dropping, with a light snowfall. The streets weren't as slippery as I'd feared.

5.2 miles after work before it got dark. Felt fine.

Could be a different story Wed morning when we're expecting -14°C instead.
