I'll start us out with a pic I just found from the 5K I did a few weeks ago with DS#2. This is the finish.

Chuck and Jen, sitting in a tent, k-i-s-s-i-n-g...I can't help it. The swoony type news always brings that to mind for me.

RIL - great pic, and nice job on the 10K this weekend! I'm still working on the package to send you, BTW

We went to Chicago this weekend and didn't get home until 9pm last night. I'm super disorganized today as a result. I hate it when Fun causes un-fun.

Ok, on the other thread

RIL - I love that your boy(s) do races with you.

WIP - whatcha knitting these days?

Today I'm working on the kitchen. Priming the trim of the kitchen and bathroom, the bathroom walls, and the doors. I have a little bit of prep to do, but then I'm getting started.

Funny: Gus is afraid of the baby gate (when he was a puppy we used to put it at the landing of the stairwell, and he poked it and it fell and chased him down the steps. Ever since then he won't go near it.) Anyway, since we took the basement door off, we put the baby gate up so Gus wouldn't go down there. It is so funny. He hasn't seen it in 6 years, but still, he will NOT go near it and gives it the stink eye and a wide birth any time he walks past.

Also funny: You might remember I said I wasn't talking to Dh's aunt until I find a job. That still holds. She called a couple times last week, not specifically for me, so I left it for Dh to call her back. He did, and left a message. She called back and left a snippy message "Are you guys alive? Do you still live in the state?" So Dh called her back again. She apparently didn't get the first message, and Dh called on his way to work and woke her up, so she didn't remember that conversation either. Dh was talking to his dad this weekend, who asked "Have you talked to Aunt Linda yet this week?" She must have been complaining that we weren't calling her back. So Dh told his dad (Aunt Linda is his sister) that I won't talk to Linda till I find a job because she rides me so hard about everything (job, unemployment, our finances, what am I going to do for the rest of my life), and his dad said "Yah, Linda's a bit of a downer isn't she?"

<snort> I can't believe that FIL actually said that. I'm glad he understands though.

morning peeps.

I am worn out...I realized when I got home last night after meeting a friend for a beer, that I've not been home any night since last Tues, and last night, when I got home just before 10, it was the earliest night I've had of those nights out. And when I got home, I put together a stew of sorts in the crock pot, did another load of laundry, and cleaned the kitchen.

So, I feel ya, Amy.

FUN: crock pot stew is already done and waiting for me when I get home.

FUN: NOT doing anything tonight.

NOT FUN: rainy Monday here. Meh.

I'm making this in the grey. I'm knitting it directly off of the little people sweater that I made. I got guage on my swatch in the round, and once I got to the shoulders I knew it was going to be to small so I figured I'd finish it and give it to my god daughter but when I got to the waist tapering I knew it wasn't going to fit anyone but Baby Paige and she'd have to wear it as a dress. So I'm doing the throw and calling it good. It's going to be stupid huge and super heavy and I can't wait to get it done!!!

It's cool and rainy here today. I kinda like it, except that it's the kind of day where you want to curl up with a fuzzy blanket, some hot tea or cocoa, and a good book. Instead, I'm at work with a full schedule of students. I don't mind that so much, as it will make today and tomorrow go pretty fast. Weds my schedule eases up a bit and I'll probably be all antsy, but at least that will give me time to catch up on things before I take off on Thurs and Fri for Moonie's pre-TCM visit here.

I like KP's thought about today being my Wednesday.

BigG- I loved that message C wrote on the log. It made me go all too.

Morning. Sleep is still messed up a bit, though I won't complain because my problem is too much sleep, not too little. Still, it's hard to function when I'm hung-over from too much sleep. I have to read a really boring book today (300 pages worth!) for my grad class so I'm saving my walk for this afternoon when I will desperately want a nap.

The pictures from yesterday and this morning are really making me smile!

hey kids - busy weekend here, with no running.

Saturday was CSA pickup, then soccer, then some photography. I could have run instead of trekking with my camera, but there was some decent foliage out there. Then stop by a local nursery to pick up a few things. Home, lunch, and then hanging 11 pair of shutters. Shuttling kids to and fro a bit, then dinner with the neighbors. Sunday I had to work (weekend IT maintenance stuff) from 6:30 AM to about noon, then I planted the stuff I had picked up from the nursery on Saturday. That was all done by about 4 (which meant that I thankfully did NOT watch the Giant game), when I showered, and started making dinner.

Working from home today, because of a Dr. appt. (see run thread)

Howdy folks.

Fun: I've got most of my living room, foyer and hallway painted!

Not fun: There are obvious spots where I didn't go over areas as heavily as I did others, and I'm going to have to attack those lighter parts with a second coat. I'm almost wishing that I left the walls with their stupid key-lime coloring, but when this is a done deal, I'll be glad I went through the hassle.

Fun: (related) I am thinking of rearranging all the furniture in the living room. On paper, it looks good, but I won't know for sure until I can scoot items around, and I need to get at least two walls completely done paint-wise before I can scoot furniture around. Most everything is currently piled in the middle of the room at the moment. Though the plus to that arrangement is that my couch is now rather close to the big screen TV and will make for excellent movie-style viewing of The Biggest Loser, tomorrow. Too bad I didn't think to do that during the Falcons game yesterday!

Lip balm: Uh... 0. Typically the only time I put that on (assuming chap stick counts) is when I'm running outside in the winter!

RIL: Sweet pic! love the smiles!

Kath: I didn't think Gus would be afraid of anything, but I guess that mean ol' puppy gate was a scary thing!!

<snort> I know!

Really though, the baby gate is the only he is afraid of (that I know about).

He was little when it happened, 6 months maybe? And it chased him down 13 stairs. It bounced all over the stairs and was really loud. Poor thing.

uuugh I am SO not having a good start to Monday!

I do feel like I'm getting sick. I have that weird tired/funny ache/dry throat/heavy sinus thing you get when you're coming down with something. And since DD is sick and I was probably already exposed to the germs before the weekend - it's pretty likely that I am, in fact, getting sick.

I woke up late so we were behind schedule from the start. DD was grumbling and complaining about being sick and missing school because today is homecoming coronation, plus her school work is pililng up. DS was pokey as usual so I went to the car to wait, while I was waiting I pulled out a clear nail polish from my purse thinking I'd slap on a quick coat, yeah - dumped the bottle in my latp. Ruined my pants, had to run in and change and use polish remover on my hands because it was all over.

There was a progress report from DS's algebra teacher waiting in my email inbox.

I apparently offended my co-worker/friend on Friday enough that she's still not speaking to me today.

I wish I had a yummy stew in my crock pot to go home to. I think I'll be making some chicken noodle soup for dinner.

There is Fun: I'm off on Friday too so today is my Tuesday. 4 day work week! so yay for that!

Mindi - I love that picture - you have the best pics of you and your boys!

Pico is still affected by the incident with the neighbor kids when he was just 9 months old. Nobosy can bend over the top of him without him freaking out and growling and snapping at them.

Hi Bard!!!

Not fun: My phone has not stopped ringing since I walked in at 8:15!

Fun: Windows Media Player is on random shuffle. Song 1 was Pearl Jam. Song 2, Pearl Jam. Song 4... Pearl Jam! Eddie's trying to tell me something today.

Litch - your weekend recap exhausted me ...and that was just reading it.

Ailarie - I pretty much always do a second coat for those reasons, there will always be spots that are lighter/darker than others. The 2nd coat goes up much faster though and you don't need to use as much paint.

Big G & Mindi - both great pics!!

LOL, poor Gus
