<p>Busy weekend!  I took the girls to mom's Christmas party on friday night.  It was a good time.  Saturday I cleaned the car out (whoever thought using light-colored fabrics for car interiors was a good idea was stunned) and moved the girls' seats around.  Evelyn is now using the bigger car seat and Lena is promoted to the booster seat.  They're both quite pleased with the change.  Got some shopping done.  Bought myself a new sweater and pants.  Got a long run in yesterday morning then took the girls to DH's Christmas party.  Watched a movie last night.</p>

<p>I got here this morning and found a big bouquet of flowers from DH and the girls.  So pretty!</p>

<p><strong>Not fun: </strong> waking up this morning to an email from my college roommate (the one who lives in Madison that some of you met).  Her mom had a stroke a few days ago and is still pretty unresponsive.  Of course, my friend dropped everything and came back to Ohio.  Her parents are the nicest people so if you can spare a good thought or prayer for them, I am sure she would appreciate it. </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>fun: </strong> my work group is going out to a late lunch and don't have to go back to the office after.  I am back to doing Weight Watchers, and the news about where we are going is both good and bad.  Good in that they post nutritional info on everything except the seasonal menu items on the website.  Bad because so little of it is healthy!  I have my top choice and a backup in mind, but damn. </p>

<p>I got Evelyn's dress at a store called Please Mum.  I'm not sure if you guys have those in the States but they have nice stuff.  I think it only goes up to age 10 or so, though.  I got Lena's at Costco.  I loved them, they look so nice on them!  I considered getting a red one for Evelyn but I think the blue looks so nice with her blue eyes. </p>

<p>Hi all - well, I think I got most of my holiday shopping done this weekend.  Just a few things here and there to pick up and presents still to wrap, but overall a pretty productive couple of days.</p>

<p>Realized again just how the years are creeping by - stopped by a Babies"R"Us to pick up some gifts for one of my younger nieces...except I guess she's not so young anymore.  Had some beautiful dresses (speaking of which, gorgeous pics of Evelyn there, <strong>clare</strong>) I wanted to buy her, but B"R"Us only has clothes for 4 yo's and younger, as I found out (she just turned 5 this year.)</p>

<p>Hey guys.  My dad called me this morning, my mother's being admitted to Brigham and Women's.  She was belligerent and disoriented yesterday, he finally took her to the local ER at 3am, and they sent her by ambulance to Boston.  The cancer has spread to her brain.  He was crying on the phone and said it's not good.  I don't know anything else yet. I'm at work.</p>
