Howdy.

There isn't really any fun in these parts right now. Pippin has been having tummy issues since Friday night. He has a sensitive tummy, so his occasional upchucking isn't that uncommon, but another day or two of this, and I'm taking him to the vet's office. Tonight his supper will be boiled white rice and a little bit of canned chicken. Maybe that will help his angry tummy settle back down. Poor little guy. He's his normal happy self, otherwise. That's good, at least.

fun: today's the 30th anniversary of MTV. I loved MTV back in the 80s and early 90s. Great stuff! It was always on in our dorm room.

QOD: Do we need to keep seperate daily threads for fun and run? The old daily thread used to get up to 12 - 15 pages before we seperated them. Now each thread only averages about 15 posts each. Thoughts?

Good morning. Still no official word on whether we're gonna get hit by a hurricane or not. (It'll be Hurricane Emily, if it gets strong enough to get named). But we've still got at least 18 hours or more before we need to worry about that.

I always forget to put sunscreen on my feet. And thus, the tops of my feet got quite burned yesterday. Ooops.

Tim, you're right, maybe we can go back to one thread. We've unfortunately lost a lot of folks who don't post any more...

QOD I was the one who intially suggested splitting the thread into two. This was after I heard from several people that they were frustrated that their honest-to-goodness running questions were being overlooked because other topics snowballed. I have no problem keeping it as two threads or combining them into one. Whatever makes people happy. I do agree with Bob, though, that we've lost some people altogether, while others (myself included) are just posting less. I don't know that one thread will solve either problem, but we can try!

Forgot to mention that this stinks. Hope Pippin feels better soon.

Funny you mention that Tim, I had been thinking the same thing. I support moving to one.

Today is a at-work day for me. My school year starts a bit differently than most of my colleagues. I participate in the per-season physicals with our athletic department...so I am getting some of that mess together.

Still no working out for me, but my hope is to done with the crutches next week!

Hi all - didn't do too much yesterday, which was alright by me. Ended up watching a lot of the Brickyard 400 - I'll still watch NASCAR on occasion having grown up with the stuff (I used to live one hour north of Daytona Beach), and this one had a pretty exciting finish plus a local boy (Jeff Gordon) involved in said finish.

Get better vibes for Pippin, Ailarie. And continued fun to those of you on vacation.

Tim - back then, MTV said that video would kill the radio star. Who'da thunk it would be MTV that would kill off the video itself

I think I got sucked into doing a casino trip next Saturday. I'll go out and gamble every once in a great while, but doing it while stuck on a tour bus for six or seven hours between destinations makes an already marginal idea not so great IMHO.

Work also is going to be a biatch the next few weeks. Even though we're getting help finally in the form of new employees, August is vacay month for a lot of folks, which means I've been gotten more piled onto my plate until I get to go on vacay end of this month.

QOD - yeah, I'm all for combining the threads at this point. We've done the one thread thing with a lot more people posting before at the old CR, and if things pick up again, then we can go back to run/fun. I think we're all flexible like that

Hello loves! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Bob ouch!!! Funny you shuold mention your burnt feet, I just heard a segment last week on a local radio station about just that issue (just that people always overlook their feet and apparently there is an increase in skin cancers that originate on the feet)! I should have warned you!!!

Ailarie I hope the poochie feels better!

Moonie your local boy is really the only driver i ever think to cheer for :) I met him before, he is so short, but guess he needs to be to fit in that car!!

My boss is back from her 3 weeks of vacay. Hohum, party is over!! And in about 15mins I get to start doing phone interviews with people who are way over qualified for the support position I have been tasked with filling. Oh and I am pretty sure I am going to say something inappropriate in the interview (not in THAT sense but in some odd legal way that might bite me in the fanny!!) Good times!

QOD: Meh, whatever is fine by me :)

I must be pretty boring, I can't think of anything fun to post.

QOD- With me being pretty much a non-runner over the past year, I haven't posted much or oftentimes even read the run thread, so I do miss out on some of the things posted there. My own fault, of course, but I support merging the threads for now and separating again in the future if the need arises. It might help spur my own fitness on again.

And speaking of running, I actually packed my running clothes and brought to work today for some sort of workout afterwards. It's a start.

Qod: I'm game for combining the threads again. Except for our occasional Friday shennanigans, it's not like the fun thread gets out of control these days. I even remember one day recently (not a weekend, I don't think) where there were a whole 8 posts. 8?! gah. I know we've lost some folks, but still. The rest of you all better not be going ANYWHERE! Hmph! :)

Thanks for the well-wishes on Pip. If he can hold the rice/chicken supper, we'll play it by ear. If he can't, the vet wants me to bring him in for an evaluation. I'm hoping that, like us humans, he just had a little something that is working itself out of his system. (my checkbook would certainly appreciate avoiding the vet's office), but if he has to go, he goes, and I figure out the bills later.

Sunburned feet: Wow - I wouldn't have thought of that, either. Then again, I'm not really a beach/sandal person, so my ghost-white feet are usually covered in at least socks! :)

Tonya - Hip Hip Hooray for hopefully being done with crutches soon! That is excellent news!

MTV stuff: Ironically, new Beavis & Butthead episodes are returning this fall. (not sure of the actual date) I know that some of you are probably rolling your eyes, but I for one, loved that show. :) It might be the only value in I see in MTV these days!

RiL - yah for nanny-testing and a dinner out!

QOD: one thread is fine with me. Last time it was discussed, there were a few people who weren't ready, but I can't recall who. Perhaps we should agree to try it for the month of August and then discuss whether it worked ok?

I'm home for lunch so I can rinse & wax some pots so I can glaze them tonight. And I just needed a break. My clients are annoying today. Sucky/vague direction and they're frustrated I can't read their mind.
