morning all

I had a fantastic time meeting RIL yesterday for cocktails. I do think they put Red Bull in my Bloody Mary because when I got home I tore up a couple more flower beds, packed the rest of the clothes in my closet found a bunch of other stuff to pack and then got up this morning and cleaned out the fridge!!

Now I'm getting caffinated so I should be able to fly thru work and have a lovely dinner tonight and get home to do more packing!!

Fun: driving a new car to work, and having people ooh and ahh over it :)

Fun: Having a job where (because the ankle is still in a neoprene brace) I can wear jeans and tennis shoes, and because I have a legitimate reason, (the running shoes support the ankle much better than my regular work shoes), it's no big deal.

Fun: My boss went to Savannah for the weekend and brought me back some pralines from the River Street Sweets company. Normally I'm not a praline girl, but I LOVE the ones from this company, and only this company. Yum yum yum. Half of one has already been devoured. I'll be lucky if the other four make it 24 hours. :)

Not fun: the back is still sore from being rear-ended on Saturday's course. It's improving, but oof. Kind of makes me think that things could have been worse if i hadn't been doing core/back work lately.

All in all.. not too bad for a gloomy and rainy Monday morning.

MMMMM, pralines....

Do you say them as PRAY-leenes or PRAH-leenes? Either way, they are scrumptious!

Good Morning all!

It's another grey and rainy (pouring) day here. And that's the forecast we have all week. Gah! DS had a lacrosse game yesterday - it was 47* and wind gusts of 30mph. Had I realized he was going to be in net the entire game, I would have suggested he wear windpants. The kid was a popsicle when he was finished.

NCRG, we have the same forecast here in Boston. Man, it SUCKS. I f'ing HATE this weather. I couldn't get out of bed this morning, even though I was asleep last night by 11. Dragged my ass out from under the covers after 8.

I didn't sleep great though. I hate when I can't get my head to turn off. Plus I was too hot, and I'd washed all my linens yesterday, but the mattress pad and quilt hadn't dried, so I ended up just sleeping wrapped in a sheet, with the down comforter. I was all tangled and sweaty when I woke up at 3am, 5am, and 7am. Meh.

I sorta like the older man I went out with this past weekend, but dating is so weird...do I wait for him to ask me out again? Do I just ask him? Sigh.

Loved the pix this weekend, peeps!

Kath, I went to someone's amazing Victorian home last night for a dinner party, and she had a huge collection of pottery...serious collector. I told her about you!

Tonight is DD's first softball game. They've had a few practices, but I don't think DD has a clue what to do. I suspect at least one melt down, I'm just not sure if it will be her or me :)

Well, probably because I'm from the south, the only pronounciation I've heard of is PRAY-leenes.

Ask him!! Why not? What's the worst that will happen? He'll say no thanks, and then you know there's no point in wondering anymore. You're a strong chica - give him a buzz! :)

Fun: J and I and a couple friends hit up both Dairy Queen and Sonic yesterday while we had a Zipcar ...it's torture to see those commercials over and over and over again and not have access to either of those chains in the city. I totally loaded up on cheesy tots @Sonic... mmmmmmm

Oooooo Pray-Leens! My honey was in Victoria last week and brought me back a beautiful box of Sea Salt Dark Chocolate covered CARAMELSSSSSS!! I might just keep him around if he keeps listening so well. I told him a couple of weeks ago that for me it's, Caramel before Chocolate, and Caramel Covered Chocolate before Breathing. He laughed. Life went on. But he put the knowledge to practical use and that is worth its weight in gold.

well, via emails, I first suggested meeting for coffee...to which he responded, he'd been hinting around about it but thought I was too busy with the show. After drinks the first time (and he checked in via email, after the first attempt to get together didn't work out), he asked me what my weekend was like, and finally we worked out meeting up on Fri night after he had dinner with his friends. He met me at my friend's birthday party at the gallery, where he met some of my friends.

He again seemed to hint around, saying he had meetings Tues and Wed of this coming week, and I said I had plans Mon night, but no plans were made for the week, when I last saw him.

I txted him yday afternoon to see if he wanted to get together last night, but it was going to be later, as I had a dinner party; his phone had died though and he didnt get my message til about 9, and he said simply he was going to head to bed soon, but thanks for the invitation.

So I don't know what exactly any of that means. I don't want to be too eager, but I want him to know I would like to see him again.

I guess that's why I'm sort of in a quandry...

Maureen - keeping in mind that I haven't been on a date since 1997, I would suggest inviting him to a specific event, or waiting for him to ask. I would not do anymore hinting or wishy-washy last minute stuff. That will just continue the ambiguity. You are an extremely busy person, so you will have to make some choices :)

that's actually my thought: I have Thurs night free. I figure I'll just say, if you're free Thurs night, would you like to go to dinner?
