As I was out and about for a good bit yesterday, (no run), I'll try to get a small one in tonight. Maybe just 3 miles. I also have some core work + bicep stuff left for the day.

Good morning, Ailarie. And everyone else...

Holy moly, I still feel beat up today. My back hurts and I'm walking funny. I can't remember the last time a race beat me up this bad. Sheesh. I need a couple days off...

If there's some good news, it's that I ordered a new Garmin 610 last night. It's backordered, so I won't get it for at least a week, but I think I can wait. It'll be nice to have a new toy to play with...

Ailarie, do some core work for me too. I've been slacking big time!

Good fitness weekend for me, even though I had a bit of a tough day on Saturday...

Minor bike crash (I'm OK... just a bruise on my left hip/outer thigh and some road rash on my left shoulder, upper arm, and wrist)

A few hours later, I stepped on a bee and got stung under my right foot!

I took it super easy on my run yesterday. The pain in my foot got far less noticeable after about 20 minutes. I'm still not sure if that's because I'd made it to the trails at that point (softer running surface) or because the 6 Advils, 2 Tylenols, and 1 allergy pill had finally kicked in.

Today my foot is swollen, pink, and really itchy. The pain has finally subsided, at least. Good grief, I'm a trainwreck recently!

steamy 10 miles yesterday morning at 930 pace. I followed up with some lifting that kicked my butt. I literally had trouble getting out of bed this morning due to soreness.

Steamy again this morning and I got 5 in.

Humidity just kills me.

Nice racing by boB and Maria!!!

After slacking off 3 days last week due to a work trip, I had a solid 16 mile run Sat morning with the group followed by a 9 mile easy run last night. Should get 8 or so in today.

Morning! I was rushed this morning so I only did the upper body circuit, no extra cardio. I may get a double in, depending on how DD's softball game goes.

Morning all! As boB said Fairfield was hilly and hot but a really pretty course. I ran it easy as a long run and nothing more, not that I could have managed much more b/c of the heat. Took in tons of liquids while on the course and still felt wiped out afterwards. J & I both had to nap on the train ride home, him wiped from being a "soccer mom" on Sunday morning to his 3 nephews & niece and me from the heat and sun on the race course. This morning I got out for a very sleazy 7.6 mi recovery run. Yoga on tap for tonight.

Congrats on the 5K, Brandy!

Oh and as I've posted on FB & Twitter, I got into the Houston HM next January. Which means a nice race for me and gawking at the Olympic Trials marathons for both men & women the day before!! And hanging with some of the 30s gang.

Ha! I saw a friend in the trails yesterday and told her what happened on Saturday. She said, "Umm, maybe you should just lie down with a book!"

No need to hug me (unless you really want to!). I'm OK. The crash could have been way worse, and the bee sting... Well, at least I fared better than the poor bee. RIP, little guy. Sorry about stepping on you!

Maria, I got an email from Tex this morning. She got into Houston also. If you don't have her email address but want it between now and then, let me know.

This is going to be fun. My worlds will collide...I'll have about a 1/2 dozen of my locals with me along with my imaginary 30s friends + Brooks people there. Wade is making this trip too.

My back is super stiff/achy today. Feels like I"m walking like my mom (oh shit). So I just walked Gus a few miles before my chiro appmt. And then Jack down the street and back. But that doesn't count for much because he walks so freaking slow.

Seriously Brandy is a machine! Need some of her mojo to rub off on me!

Trying to catch up from being gone most of the last two weeks. Only managed one run in New Orleans: Heat/Humidity + late nights in the Quarter + early educational sessions = no energy for runs. BUT, did manage to walk 3+ miles each day via nightlife and sightseeing, so that's a positive. Right?

4 easy/not so easy miles this morning. HR was way too high for the effort, but at least I got up and got my run in before the rain started. And it was nice to run in temps in the 60s, not where the temp was in the 80s and the dewpoint over 75.

YES! And I have a different/exciting training cycle in the works this time, so should be fun. I'll try to blog about it soon.

Theia...OUCH!

I had a good weekend for running! Did the Englishtown Mussel Fest 5k on saturday morning and got a PR with 24:45! I can't believe I can get under 25 minutes now! Ran this morning and got a nice sweat on, too!

But when I first started, I was getting an odd pain in my left arch. It felt like something pulling, sort of stabbing. Strange. It eventually stopped but when I finished my run and started to walk it was back. Gone again now. What's up with that?

Hi all, first off, nice racing folks (Maria, boB, Brandy, clare) a big w00t! to you all!

Yikes ((((Theia)))) - take care of yourself!

I knocked out 4 miles on Sunday (the cardio is coming back) I think I'm going to have to back off the running just a tad, unfortunately. There's a couple two or three things stuck somewhere inside this tweaky interior of mine right now and even minimal running is throwing tight spots left and right (well, almost all right-side actually) on my legs. I think I did find my right-side psoas at last, which is good because it's not really firing at all, running or otherwise - I've got a deep achiness in the area from the rudimentary strengthening I started on the muscle Saturday.

I don't think I used the foam roller this much in the past couple days for quite awhile, and I think I'm beginning to appreciate the regular maintenance I get from my sports massage sessions much more now.

Great racing this weekend, Brandy, Maria, Bob, and Clare! Congrats! (Did I miss anyone? Hope not!)

I did an all-women sprint tri on Saturday. Did well, and accomplished the 2 goals I set for myself. Full details here, but the short story is this: 22/186 OA, 4/46 AG.

Right after the race and a quick shower, I went to work at the store. Didn't get to eat until after 3pm. Can you say loopy?!

Yesterday I did an 11mi long, easy run, and then today I did my longest bike ever: 50 miles! Whoa, my ass hurts and I need a nap!
