Hey peeps,

Good to see lots of activity or planned activity out there.

I guess I'll do a midday run in a little bit. Just 3 easy miles today as I start to get back in the flow, followed by some core...maybe time for a 100+ pushup session.

Speaking of spring races, I'm starting to plot out my course as well. My unfortunate employment situation puts a bit of a damper on doing "destination" races but there are plenty of good opportunities in the mid-Atlantic. Anyway, I picked a HM in April that's up in New Brunswick, NJ -- more or less the backyard of where my whole fascination with running began back in my teen years. It's on 4/22...isn't that Boston weekend?

Then on 5/6 it's time to go back to Philly (although I have to wait until 2/15 to sign up), this time for the Broad Street Run (10 miles). I finally ran it in 2011 for the first time but had GI issues in the morning, not surprisingly dehydration during the race, and finished a minute off my PR. I've felt cheated ever since, given BSR's reputation as a super-fast PR machine.

BBS - it's called DOMS. Look it up in wikipedia. It gets better though. Try to go for some walks if you can...that will help break up the lactic acid in your legs.

MH - good job on the rainy slog. Gray here but no rain...yet.

Chances - nice work on the trainer yesterday. One of these years I'll probably get one. Meanwhile I was grateful for the opportunity to get perhaps one last fairly long road ride in yesterday. Most likely the road bike goes in storage now and the hybrid gets to do lots of short winter rides.

jebba - nice job on the 9. You seem to be recovering quite well from your marathon.
