Morning all,

Got motivated to break out the cold weather gear and take it outside for 5.75 easy miles early this morning. I was in max protect mode --- forecast was -13 wind chill. Not sure if it was that bad, thermometer on my car had 10 for the temperature and I skipped the facemask; did not seem as windy as advertised or maybe I just didn't feel it through the layers. First couple of miles were on the path but I got tired of the uneven footing and improvised on the roads after that.

FB - hopefully the marathon will have some cooler weather for you, have a great final week!

Morning...

FB - Weird to hear chilly from your end! Getting excited about the M?

Loopy - Long as the temps don't get to be the same as your miles!

Heavy rain finally stopped here. A little sore from yesterday but feels like normal stuff. Rest day today.

Loopy- Nice job on the fair weathered 10

zrun- Glad you faced the weather and got out there

Dan- enjoy the rest

I tryin to decide whether to run outside in the 15* 15mph NW winds (wind chill is 2*), or stay inside and go for the TM....3 miles either way.

FB--nicely done.

loopy--ho hum... another 10...

zrun--gotta love winter running.

Dan--rest up!

Run in the winter wonderland for me. Got a call at 5am that schools were one a 2hr delay. Roads are BAD. An inch of ice covered by a couple inches of snow. Cars couldn't even get up the incline to get on the main road. Didn't make much difference because traffic wasn't moving there anyway. Screw shoes did the trick and I had a very uneventful little trot. 4m @9:04pace. Followed by shoveling the drive.

Good morning everyone. I am jealous of all those getting snow as I enjoy it. Right now we are having some very nice weather for a few more days. Highs yesterday were in the 50's, but that will not last that long. I got in another 5 miles in 44:40(8:56). With a burst of speed for the last .5 miles.

Morning all,

Cold here too. And windy. We had a little dusting last night, first snow around here; I could tell just getting the newspaper out the driveway that it was slick out there, too.

I have a busy day ahead at work, so I didn't bother packing a bag for running at work. So I'll be back on the 'mill tonight after escaping outdoors briefly to run yesterday. I'm looking at about 7 or so, probably a progression run.

FB - enjoy that taper week

loopy - 30s sounds plenty cold enough to me...but actually it will get even chillier for the next few days.

zrun - minus13? I would definitely be inside for those temps.

Dan - have a good rest day

BBS - have a good three in or out

4BM - yeah, almost time to break out the YakTrax.

RA - re: your post yesterday, I know what you mean about being on the TM every day. I think yesterday I was feeling a little bit of TM fatigue so I went out even though the conditions were dreadful. Oh well, back on the belt tonight most likely.

Nice work all. This time last year I'd have run 8-10 miles before work in the dark, frigid temps. Well, actually I wouldn't because Monday is typically a rest day. However; now I'm trying to talk myself into a 5'er on the TM here at work.
