Good morning, TEAM LIT!

Wow, what a fun weekend I had. Good to put me in the holiday spirit and then some. Complete with Holiday runs, shopping, and beers and cheer, and a Yulefest 5K along with an amazing after-party with great friends. Seriously a top 5 weekend of the year!

Weekend Recap...

Saturday: 6.5 mile Holiday Run with one of my local running clubs. We gathered for this point to point run in the town center where all runs begin, then jogged along with 30 others to an undisclosed location, all the while stopping twice for a beer stop. Destination was a tiny burger joint/bar that opened early just for us. I had cycled past this place a million times, never knowing what was there. Now I know. We also raised a lot of money for kids in need of some holiday cheer. Really fun.

Sunday: Cambridge Yulefest 5K. 18:13 (5:52 pace). 13th place overall of 850. 1st place Master (40+). Won a great ceramic Yulefest mug. Race was one of my favorites. Start in Harvard Square next to Harvard, course goes around the university and deep into Cambridge, then winds back with lots of turns toward the final run back to the school, with finish right in front of the Harvard T-stop. Race sponsored by three breweries: Pretty Things, Notch Session, and Peak Organic. And beer was free-flowing for a rocking good festive party. When I was called up to receive my award for first place in 40+ category, I brought up a full beer, poured it into the cup, and Christened the festive prize by drinking from the cup. It was a crowd favorite. Fun, fun, fun time with great friends. Logged 6 miles in all with 2.5 solid warm up. Race was 25F, so it was slowish going on running top end speed. Yes, it was cold. Lots of frozen feet and hands.

Monday: 3.5 mile jog.

Great day, Yulefest Goers!
