It is currently raining hard. That may delay my running for the day or totally make it another rest day. I have 5 X 90 sec. on schedule for today and then just some easy running for the rest of the week. Have a great morning everyone.

Loopy- I think this cooler weather is bringing ppeople outta the wood works, the trails were crowded last saturday w/ runners

Kevin- Just run in place. Hope the rain lets up for ya.

I am gonna strike out on an easy run in a few. Not sure on the distance, but I'd like to go 6. I think I have decided not to race on Labor day. These races are getting expensive... gotta sign up for the Marathon soon, plus theres a 50K in January that fills up fast I wanna try for. Registration opens for it in Sept.

I have raced enough 5Ks this year anyway. I think that has to do w/ me not getting any faster too... got too stale

Easy 5.75 group run for me mixed roads/trails this a.m. It was pretty hot and sticky, but looks like it is supposed to cool down this weekend. My legs recovered well from the long run between yesterday afternoon and this morning, I guess the yogurt smoothie and ice bath worked.

loopy--what's "lots of runners"? Is that hundreds or just more than you and the garden gnome?

fuller--hopefully the rain lets up. Hubby and son1 are flying in this afternoon for tomorrow's test. Hopefully this one goes off, unlike the last!

BBS--if you aren't toeing the line chomping at the bit, then it's time to scratch the race. I've decided not to race on Labor Day for just that reason.

zrun--yogurt ice bath?!?!?!

Unplanned rest day. Plan was to drop the van off and run home. Last night I tried to start the van and she made the worst screaching sound, the engine died, and engine light came on. Okay... So I had to call for a tow this morning. They claimed it was over the 15mile limit, to which I said BS! I mapped it and it's 10.5m. No, it's over 15. Trust me, I was going to run home. I know it's 10.5. Not sure if they were trying to BS me or just wanted to get rid of the crazy runner lady, but eventually agreed that it was under 15. I will have to ride over this afternoon to pick her up, but that's not really a "workout".

loopy -- Yeah, 4boys' question: What's a lot of runners? Good job.

Kevin -- A little rain? Get out there, softie. :)

BBS -- I agree. Unless you need a fitness test, don't do it. Enjoy your run.

zrun -- Now I want a smoothie. Great job this a.m. in the heat.

4boys -- A towing company? Trying to put one over on you? What's the world coming to? Way to stand your ground. You'll get that run in.

Where's Dan?

Only did ten pretty fast miles yesterday, so I'll be doing eighteen over a double lunch hour today. Cooler weather has settled into the valley today.

Morning folks...

Rob - Slept in a little. 18 over lunch? Man, you know how to live. Hope it goes well.

4boys - Dem guys didn't know who they were dealing with.

zrun - quick recoveries are good. I'm with 4boys. A yogurt ice bath? Trying to picture that.

BBS - Hope you have a good run. Probably a good idea to start focusing on the marathon.

Kevin - Sorry bout the rain. Looks like we're supposed to get some tomorrow.

Loopy - Hope those other runners didn't spoil your morning meditation.

Rest for me today. Feel better than I thought I would this morning. Good thing as I've got a long day.

Drive by posting.... I had thought of running to the gym but DD put pay to that idea. by causing sleep deprivation. I swear she's working for the North Korean's. Anyway, I'm sticking with the SRD and cut back week.

Mom- bummer bout the van....please tell me its like a 70's model with the cool little window in the rear shaped like a diamond, and it has some sorta mural airbrushed on the side... that'd be awesome.

Chances- 18 at lunch? Hope ya'll got some showers

Dan- Enjoy the rest

4boysmom- I have a brothe in law that works at ATK. Not sure what he does though. I wish I could go watch one of the test. I have seen them online and they are pretty cool. Sometimes ksl.com has video footage of them.

Chances- A bunch of rain, lightning, temps less than 50. I did get out running and the rain stopped long enough for me to get my run in. Once I got home the skies opened up again.

RA- It reminds me of when my kids use to keep us up at night.

It seems to be getting cooler already. I sure hope summer is not over as far as the temperatures go. I enjoy having nice running weather in the morning. I had to wear a light jacket today. I was never too warm with it on. I did 8 X 90 Secs. and it kicked my butt.

7:03, 7:12, 6:51, 6:38, 6:55, 6:48, 6:38, 6:54 I decided to do 8 rather than the 5 scheduled so I could get back home quicker. 6.23 miles in 53:45(8:40). Now I am only doing some easy runs for the rest of the week so I can be primed for my 10k. The fun race is on 9/11 and it is a steep down hill 8k which hopefully I can run it faster than the down hill 8k I ran in Junel.

Got a decent night of sleep in even though it was still upper 70s/low 80s. Hopefully it doesn't climb back into the 90s again today. That is just a little too hot, especially in our house. Oh well, I suppose I'll miss it in a few months when I'm running in double layers. Just gonna take another rest day since we don't have practice on Mondays, and hopefully the random aches will be greatly relieved by tomorrow. More icing and toe raises on the schedule for today...

fuller--hubby works with some of the guys there, so they'll be able to see the test and hopefully get a tour of the facility. That is if everyone isn't left scrambling because the test was aborted with less than 10secs like last time.

BBS--sorry to disappoint, but my uber-sexy mini van is just like every other one on the road. I don't take photos of my vehicles (except 2-wheeled!), so this is the best that I can do.

3.55 miles of walk/run while watching Glee on netflix. Fun show.

We were supposed to get up at 5 am and do a p90x workout, but mr jebba "forgot" to set the alarm, so we did the 16 minute abs routine and will do the rest of the workout after the kids go to bed.

Nice workouts today everybody....just got back from a nice and hotty fiver. Legs felt funny from Sat. run but still managed a pretty good pace at 7:40. Started back to college today, so if none of you see me on here again it's because I jumped off a cliff with rocks at the bottom. Off to hit the books.Lata peeps!

Hey peeps,

I've been AWOL for a couple of days, though I did try to post something yesterday and it vanished into the ether sometime after I hit "submit."

I'm back in Northern VA, back at work and back in the soup (heat & humidity). I had an 8-miler planned for today near the office anyway, but work took care of that, so now I'm looking at getting out of here for an evening trot, perhaps on the treadmill.

With vacation it was a very light week for me last week, at least for running. I guess you could say I got a lot of cross training in (biking, kayaking, etc.). Actually I think the week off may have done me some good. I'm ready to hit it hard this week...55 miles planned for the week ahead. Good thing, too as I've got a half marathon on 9/19.

Nice running all, no time for comments now. I need to check up on a few things so I can get out of here!

I was able to struggle through 7.48 miles this morning. It was only 79% humidity when i went out the door so I pushed my planned 6 mile run to 7, forgetting that the course I was going to run is 7.5. No big deal. I felt okay. I still took 2 walk breaks but I was glad to get the extra mileage. My pace was 9:19 but I am hoping that as soon as the weather breaks that the pace will drop with it.

Have a good one everyone.

P.S. Those damn ducks didn't answer me this morning when I went running by.
