Good morning, Kicksters,

I haven't had much computer time lately, but a managed to do a quick review of what's been going on.

Lordy, Ericka - that's a fine 21 miler you put together! I'm looking forward to this race of yours.

Hi, ks! I'll get a pic posted soon. Yes, it is a sweet ride. Oh, and nice showing for your team in that marathon relay.

Heme - congrats on your race this w/e! Nicely done.

OM - sweet 1/2 you ran. Now it's time to rest and let the Doc's do their thing, We're pulling for you.

Welcome back, Laura! My those are purty toes.

I ran 11 on Fri, 4 yesterday, and just finished 6, 4 at tempo. Feeling fine. I won't complain about the constant overcast and light rain we haivng. I wish we could send a gentle rain to you, John. And I wish we could have diverted those winds yesterday too. Hope all those in Kickland are doing well.

Hiya Mike and those to follow.

I have several friends in the Joplin area as I didn't live too far from Joplin before I moved to TX. The owner of the new running store posted this morning he lost his house but not his business. Haven't heard from the others yet.

10.75 miles this morning 80 degrees this morning and feels like 86 degrees. 4 mile warmup into the wind and then 4 X 1 mile intervals with 1/2 recoveries between. Goal 1/2 marathon pace. Over on the first as it was directly against the wind. Under on the second. ok on the 3rd and over on the 4th. Not a bad group considering the heat, humidity, and racing last Saturday.

Hope for you all to have a good day.

Nice runs Mike and KS.

KS Who is the young guy on your avatar?

I had a 3 day work bender from morning to night (roof job) so I used that to not workout for 4 days in a row. Might be the longest layoff in a few years. Also decided to take another 2 weeks off to see if I can get all the pain in my foot to go away.

Yesterday I jumped back in with 2 hours on the eliptical. It said I did a little over 23 miles with an elevation gain of about 16,000 ft.

Don't think that's possible running. That would be 5:12 pace at 13% incline!! Feet finally started to go numb the last 10 minutes and I was running out of gas quickly. I hit the viewing lottery as I spent the whole workout watching the Big Ten T&F conference meet. I have seen a lot of those runners at our state meet over the years.

i ended up doing my long run on Sunday, rather than on Saturday as originally planned (that's why you didnt' see my car there on Saturday John), so I was thinking of you, Erika, as I knew you were also planning your LR on Sunday. My plan was 22, but I stopped at 20. I was really zapped of energy by the time I finished at about 1:30. Got a nice sunburn out there that day too.

22 miles in 3:20:10. I was averaging about 9:40's but faded a bit towards the end, so slowed down.

Then, I had a ton I wanted to get done yesterday, so after a slice of leftover pizza when I got home, I had some energy again, so spent a couple hrs in the garden, puppy playtimem, did some laundry, cleaned bathrooms, puppy playtime, made homemade cookies, prepped dinner, puppy playtime, cleaned up kitchen, bathed puppies, put them to bed, collapsed.

so glad to be at work today where I can relax a little.

Jumped on the eliptical this evening and started going hard right away so I turned it into a "go until I fall off" workout. Lasted 33 minutes before the heartrate hit about 97%.

After a few minutes recovery, I jumped back on and did another 27 minutes at an easier rate.

Those few days off really made a difference in the energy I have had the last couple days.

Hi folks!

Been off line for a couple of days due to my best friend being here for a visit.

Terrific race, HappyFeat! That's a nice improvement in your pace!

Nice LRs for Erika and Tamster! Tammy, is that the last LR in the cycle or do you have one more to go.

Congrats on the job, OM! I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.

Mostly tapering/slacking for me for the last couple of days. My BF and I cruised the garden centres around here all day yesterday and DH made us a lovely dinner.... which was really gracious of him, seeing as we left my friend's car on the driveway, blocking his in and forgot to leave him the keys..... whoops! She headed out this morning, so I spent the day (a holiday here in Canuckistan) trying to catch up on the gardening. Did manage a 3.75 mile trail run through the conservation area before dinner. Felt terrific!

Heme, I'll do one more. This wknd is 12 or so, then I'll do another 20 miler (or maybe make that one 22 if I'm feeling good), and then an 8, then the marathon. Pretty much the same schedule I followed for Newport last summer.
