the cool kids have november birthdays. your mom is cool. happy bday to her!

hmmmm, i have nothing to report. i'm at work though. i guess that's something. it may possibly be the only day this week i'm in the office since i report for jury duty tomorrow. and i'm actually hoping i get selected for a trial because i've never been a juror before and i think it would give me an interesting perspective on the judicial system coming from a defense slant. although there are a couple of civil trials scheduled this week, so that's a possibility too. but criminal trials are so much more interesting.

Happy Birthday to mc's mom! Thanks for starting today.

Ran 6 miles this morning in 55 minutes, plus a little more for a cooldown jog, to make 6.4 total in just under an hour. Then it was off to today's funeral. One more tomorrow. That makes three in three days. If nothing else, I'm getting a lot of mileage out of my one navy blue suit that fits...

Have a lovely day, all.

Happy Birthday to MC's Mom!

OM, sorry to hear about all the funerals.

We had a fantastic weather weekend, 68 Saturday and low 60's and still yesterday. I biked a total of 72 miles and hiked yesterday too. This morning it was 50 when I went out for 2 miles. Loving such mild November weather!

No running this morning...I awoke achy and nauseated, virus-y and clammy. It was all I could muster to sit at my computer and try to get caught up on the family photos for our end-of-the-year photo book.

I did run across some photos my DH took of the "4 on the 4th" race I ran up in York, ME. This was the 4th of July race that I ran completely unprepared. I had travelled up to York 3 days after moving, and I couldn't find any of my gear, so I gave up on running. I was so sad not to be able to run, my sister suggested that I run in my Keens. So I did! Everyone else looked like real runners, and I turned up on the course in pajama bottoms and my Keens, holding on to my hotel room key and some bandaids (I had no idea what running 4 miles in my Keens was going to do to my feet). I finished feeling greta, in 8:15 pace, and was so happy!

Pasting these images is about all of the running-related activity I can muster today.

Cool photos, Dr! That's close to running bf.

Heck of a race this w/e, CNY! Must be nice to have all the ink published about your races.

6 miles this morning with intervals, 6 x 0.4 mi + 90 sec recovery. Felt greta right out of the gate. Splits: 7:21, 7:12, 7:15, 7:00, 7:24, 7:15. I do these on the streets, but I'm thinking about moving to the track until the snows arrive. I'm taking too many chances crossing through busy intersections, making a nuisance of myself at times. Poor drivers can barely keep an eye for me as they sip coffee, talk on the phone, and read test messages. Oh, and steer.

I guess I must have been channeling Robin today. Achy, icky, sicky. No run, but I did get in a half hour workout this morning (mostly stretching) between 4:30 and 5:00, when I thought it was just a passing phase.

Hopefully tomorrow will be another nice day, and I'll be able to enjoy it. Keep kickin', masterkickers.

Feel better soon, Robin and bty.

Nice pics, Robin. I have blue Keens. They've never moved as fast as yours.

Watch out for the idiot drivers, irun!

I ran while the car was in the shop, a little under an hour, wearing my feather weight shoes and feeling floaty.

Forgot to pack the garmin in the gym bag today.

Wow, today is Kick Runners Lite I guess. Happy birthday to mc's mom! Tamster, I thought all the cool kids were born in October?

Hey Mike, gotta watch those drivers who are reading tests, they might have the answers written on their hands!

I love Robin's pictures. Pajama bottoms and sandals. Unsinkable Doc Travers! (hope you feel better soon)

Hey There, Floaty Flying Finn! Nice multi-tasking while the car is in the shop.

Nothing much for me to report either. This is supposed to be my peak week before Tecumseh, and I got nothin. We've had a lot of snow the last few days, the temps will drop like a rock over the next 30 hours or so (-20° is the weathergasm of the moment for tomorrow night), and somehow the idea of running mega miles on the treadmill just doesn't do much for me. I don't usually run on Mondays but was thinking of just a half hour run before dinner tonight. DH will be watching football anyway, so sort of buys me some free time.

I had a tough choice tonight: OU men's basketball or a cold, wet run. The game was very exciting, the last minute of regulation and overtime. Regardless of the conditions, I have this cool, post-injury perspective that every run is optional. I say "cool" because I wish I'd had it before.

3 mile easy treadmill run. I've taken to listening to podcasts when running on the treadmill. Lately it's been the NPR show "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me..." OMG, that's some funny stuff. But laughing while running on the 'mill is a little bit tricky. Fun stuff, though! (and so far, no big drop in temps. I'm betting it's nothing much at all)

Love the jammies & Keens photos -- imagine the aggravation of the other women in your AG..."and then this woman wearing what looked like pajama bottoms and sandals cruised by me, hardly out of breath at all!" I mean, just look at the despair on the faces of the people around you in that first photo -- too funny.

OK, so I ran 4 easy miles yesterday....finally (after a couple weeks off). And I'm....sore. Sore, from an EZ 4-miler! Criminey!

Welcome to my world. Though you do have to drop the regret part of it, that's not going to serve you well.
