Trying to get some motivation to go running this morning. I am going to try and incorporate a run for tomorrow. The run will be short as I am doing the 10% per week upgrade in miles. Have a great Christmas Eve everyone.

well, i cancelled my gym membership about 2 months ago, and today was the yesterday of what I had paid for. So I was going to go swim today, but I can't go to 24hr fitness, and the gym at the school is closed so I guess I am going to run on the dreadmill for a little while here. probably do 2-2.5 mins or so...I post again later.

I am in a crappy mood today, I miss Tonya, hopefully a run will help. Have a merry Christmas.

Phill-- I hope you have a great day.

Flounder--- That is quite a few miles you have put in over 2 days. That would put me out for quite a while.

I just got back from my run and it was good. 4.25 miles in 36:20(8:32). The pace was a little slower than I would have liked, but for the road conditions it was good. Have a great day everyone.

Hey ya’ll,

Dan- Nice ride, sorry you’re a little stiff, but glad you’re getting to do something!
Richard- Enjoy the rest
Kfuller- Nice Run
Phill- Hope the run goes well, sorry you’re missing Tonya
Florida- Nice run
Flounder- Nice run, you’re a beast

Just posting over here for now, since active is doing scheduled maintenance…guess I missed the memo for that. 4.5 miles today around a 9:38/mile pace. I had only planned on 4 but turns out my neighborhood mile loop is a little longer than a mile, more like 1.13, so 4 laps puts me at about 4.5. Good enough for me. No left knee pain until the last lap…its 40* and sunny out, nice day for a run. Time to get showered and get ready to head over to my uncle’s house.

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope ya’ll have a nice Christmas Eve.

Phillip - I miss you too!!!

Merry Christmas Eve, everyone.

Dan, thanks for the thoughts.

I'm going to go ahead and say Merry Christmas to everyone now because as of 5:00 this afternoon I'll be without internet access for at least 24 hours (going to see my grandparents who are an hour away, and they are not wired). So--everyone have a great time with your family, and let us all know what you receive for Christmas!

Should be heading out for a regular 8+ mile run here in a little while, then coming back and having my family's Christmas here. It will only be me, my sister and brother, and my dad . My mom will be remembered...

Then it's off to my grandparents' house for a mass for my mom tonight, and then tomorrow we'll have my mom's side of the family Christmas celebration. Should be back in Amarillo tomorrow evening, but tomorrow will probably be a day off from running. We'll see. Wednesday morning I hope to get up a little early and go for a long run (maybe) and then I'm leaving to go back to Omaha, where I'll be doing Christmas with my in-laws and Phillip!!!

Have a nice holiday everyone. I might return a little later...

Well I've finally gone ahead and signed up for this site. Cool Running is pretty much dead to me now. It's a sad, sad thing.

Hoping to get in 3-4 miles today around lunch time (no watch!), and hopefully a medium sized long run tomorrow.

I'm itching to get back into training, but that will be my New Year's gift to myself.

I am finally able to post here. I have been trying to post the past few days here and at Coolrunning. I hope everyone is doing well and ready for Christmas. I will run a short run this afternoon on the treadmill. I did a crazy run a couple nights ago. My babysitter cancelled so when my husband got home from work Saturday night, I did my 19 mile run starting at 6pm. I ran circles around our neighborhood. I live on a hill and it was tough both physically and mentally, but I did it!I have a marathon on Feb. 3rd.

I hope everyone has a nice holiday. I am thinking about you Mom and Tonya.

Nirvana--yah, I'm pretty much done iwth CR. I went to log in (again) this morning, and the system crashed...

Tonya and Phill--sorry you guys won't be together for Christmas!

Dan--I so get the sitting on the bike going nowhere!!! If you crank decent tunes, it's not too bad.

Flounder--you are crazy!!! And you're doing that on the dreadmill?!?!?!?!

As for me, started the morning by sleeping in! Okay, it was 7:30... Got to the gym, and they asked me if I was planning on swimming this morning. Uh, yah. Seems someone turned the water on and forgot to shut it off last night, over filling the pool. The heater hadn't been able to keep up, so the water was COLD. As in 65-68'. Decided to see what I could do. It wasn't that bad, and I had to pool to myself. A couple people came in and did one lap and got out! I think it was 2200 in 1:06. Got out and realized just how cold I was!!!

Quick change, then off for my run. 25' and very windy. Oh, this is so not good!!! Decent run, though. New route in an attempt to keep a cross wind. Ended up with a short walk break inbound because calves cramped so bad, no doubt from the cold.

3.4m, 29:02, 8:31pace

No real news on Grandpa. Yesterday they did chest xrays and one lung is partially collapsed. OUtlook is not good. They're doing enough to make Grandma think they are doing something.

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!

I got back from my morning run a little while ago. From Megs' report it looks like were out and about on the roads of Fairfax at around the same time, but we didn't bump into each other.

I did my hilly 7.6 mile Fairfax City loop. Legs felt real sluggish today but I pushed through it and worked the hills anyway. Finished up in 57:25 (7:33/mile). Nice day for a run -- cool, crisp and sunny.

I haven't been to CR yet today. It's too bad they just can't seem to get it right. Funny thing is I actually created a blog over there a few days ago. That kind of points up my personal conflict over the whole Active thing. Can't live with them can't live without them. The blog functionality is a nice add-on and on top of that I'm also leaning towards using Eteamz to manage my soccer team this spring. And of course, it seems like half or more of the road races I run do their registration process through Active. But no question, the old Cool Running functionality that we all knew and loved has taken a terrible hit.

4boysmom - I bet you didn't even need coffee after that cold water swim. That'd wake me up for sure.

Rainierun - nice to see you over here, and great job on your long run!

Nirv - New Years Day is day 1 of my new training as well, with Boston as the big target. Good luck with your run later.

Tonya - hope Christmas goes well for you and that you get back safe and sound in Nebraska. Amazed you've been able to keep the running going with all that's going on. Great job.

Phill - hang in there. I feel your pain. Once my wife had to travel for the entire month of November to Honduras and we were separated for Thanksgiving.

kfuller - hope you get a run in.

Richard C - hopefully St. Nick will bring some snowshoes your way; sounds like the timing would be perfect.

vashondan - nice ride; you'll be running again soon enough.

I think that I am giving up on coolrunning. There are a few functions I like about the new site, but the log in process is a pain. Anyway I guess we like simplicity here on the Run and Race reports. Have a great day everyone.

New member here. My wife and I are in Phoenix. She went out for a run in the desert while I went and got my cross training done on the rowing machine. I'll go out for a run this afternoon with by brother-in-law.
Like many of you, I'm a former Coolrunner that is upset with the Active revision. I hope the new running log portion will work out.
Merry Christmas to all!!!

Now I know where everyone is at. I was over at CR most of the morning.

No problem, if this is where everyone is moving I will move over here permanantly.

Dan - Nice job on the bike. Hope you heal up nicely so you can get back to running.

Richard - Enjoy your rest day.

kfuller - Nice run.

Phil - Hope you have a good run.

Floridaboiler - Nicer run this morning. What was the temps?

Flounder - Impressive run and on the TM.

megs - Nice run.

Tonya - My thought are with you and your family. I know how difficult it can be. Check out the post on intervals on CR under "the competitive wire"

Nirvana - Hang in there and you will make it to New years.

Rainierun - Impressive run last night. Great job.

Mom - My thoughts are with you and your family as well. Hope all works out for you.

Flo - Have a great run.

hawk - Nice run out there today.

For me: I did a "Brick" this morning. 21.2 miles on the bike in 1:14:23 (17.1 MPH) followed by 3.25 run through the neghborhood in 25:12 (7:45 pace). I think I had about a minute and a half for the transition. My Garmin had a dead battery before I started the ride, so I had to charge it while I was riding and then run in the house to get it and wait for it find a signal before I could start.

Merry Christmas all.

Remember the reason for the season.

Very impressive runs and workouts on here already today. Nothing too exciting here, 6 very pleasant easy miles on the treadmill and then a 20 minute upper body weight workout. The Y was busy with everyone getting their pre-Christmas/Y is closed workouts in.

Flounder -- that's some mileage!
tonya -- I hope running is helpful for you right now.
4boysmom -- I'm in awe of that swim in the cold water.
Floridaboiler -- didn't you just run a marathon? Nice run!

I hope all of you who celebrate Christmas enjoy the start of festivities.
