Happy monday folks. Today the girls start basketball and last year I played around with them at the practices. That's not happening this year, or at least not first priority. First I'll get everything ready and then I'm off for a run, and if they're still playing when I get back, then I'll play some hoops. This way I can get the best of both worlds while still getting good training in, unlike last year. And also, I'll actually get to run when it's light out.

Even better news, it's supposed to be in the 50s today so I'm running in a singlet and shorts...woohoo! Savor it while it lasts.

Have a great day.

It was 64°F this morning at 5:30 when I headed out for my run. It's not often I get to run without a shirt in mid-November. I started speedwork today with a grueling workout that involved 200m and 400m sprints. I was pretty much a corpse at the end of this run which covered a little over 11 miles total. Have a good run today. Keep it fun!

Nice running Lof. I had a beautiful run as well. It was upper 40s so I busted out the half-tights and a singlet. Felt great. 4.1 easy miles and I'm feeling good...calves pretty sore now though from playing hoops and working on plyometrics.

Ha! I thought Kickrunners was a little corner of heaven!

I have nothing to report as all I did today was teach one pilates class. Today was either rest or optional cross-train. I have an awful blister on the corner of my big toe and every step hurts, so I didn't feel like exercising. I did clean my house which probably took more effort than spinning or elliptical would right now.

Driving rain all evening. Intended to do a run-swim-run brick to the YMCA and back, but I balked at the rain. Finally, I headed into it: 54F and steady rain at 830p.

No swim, but 4 miles easy and cooled down with 4x strides. It was a much warmer than expected. The rain was not bad at all.

Two weeks since the marathon. I'm starting to dream up ideas for base building phase for Boston. I'm thinking of making all of Dec and Jan as a base period before starting a quality phase in Feb. Who knows, lots of time to decide.
