Cooler (For Florida) and Humid run this morning. I survived my 10.8 mile run with only 1 walk break. Total time wa 1:44:47 for a pace of 9:47. Considering the weather, I will take it.

FB - Nice way to start the week. A bit longer run than usual?

Rest day for me. Especially after being up with one of the pooch's who appears to have an ear infection. Has been shaking his head incessantly. Poor guys (him and me).

Rest day for me too. Good job as this cold is kicking my butt. I think the cold medication + RedBull got me through the 20 yesterday.

Woke up 1/2 hour late for the group run. Doesn't take much to get me to switch a recovery run to xtraining these days, so I did 50 minutes Elliptical instead. I should be ready for intervals tomorrow.

FB - More minutes than degrees today, awesome job!

Dan - rest up and hope the pooch is feeling better.

Dave - nice ride/tempo - that sounds tough

4boys - have a good catch-up monday

RA - hopefully the rest day will knock that sucker out

Done with weight room. Now a day of class and then a recovery run. Me and my freshman are lifting with the sprinters now, since the CC team only lifts once during meet weeks and will adjust their lifting to fit their peak/taper. Since we don't need to worry about that, we'll be hammering away for the next few months! It'll be like summer all over again-sore all the time and seeing lots of improvement. I'm pumped!

I am running a tad bit late today. It is me and DWs anniversary so I stopped by a store on the way home to get some flowers and a card and ran into a high school buddy I havn't seen in a few years and ended up talking too long.

I got 5 w/ 1/2 mile of hill repeats on the sched., but My legs are still sore from Saturday... may just change it to an easy 3.

Good morning everyone and nice job on the running and resting. I got in 5 miles in 43:27(8:41). The last miles was 7:52 and it felt good to throw in a semi fast mile at the end. I was worried about running outside this morning as there is a fire in the mountains across the valley here. It was started at camp williams which is a national guard training center etc.. They were doing machinge gun exercises and it sparked the fire. Add gusty winds yesterday and 3500+ acres later and 4 reported houses burned. So I was worried that the air quality would be bad. When I saw other people out running I was glad that I was not the only crazy person out running. Actually it seemed fine. Now off to get kids to school. Have a great morning.

Good morning, everyone. I was up early for a legs and back workout. I despair of ever being abole to do an unassisted pull-up, but I keep trying.

Then after dropping Miss Sunshine at school, I went out for a gentle 3 with Easy in the stroller.

Doctor visit today to get some bloodwork, and like 4boys, I have a date with the laundry.

Morning all.

Add me to the resters group. My lower body is completely trashed today. I'm talking "marathon sore" -- and that's after a half marathon. Looking back at the course, about 9.5 of the first 10 miles were on concrete. Not to mention the rolling hills and endless uphill on the bridge. Then the last mile of the race was mostly on loose gravel & sand path.

I'm still assessing what yesterday's result all means for the road ahead. I didn't hit any of the targets I had in mind...PR (sub 1:29), hang on & break 1:30, or go 1:31 at least break 7:00/mile pace. But maybe those were not realistic. The course obviously was brutal. And I've struggled through the training this season; truthfully since mid-summer I've seen a slow decline in results. So in that sense yesterday falls right in line with recent performances. Why the decline? Dunno...most likely culprit is fatigue and the inability to keep going at the level I was earlier in the year. Now I just want to stay healthy, finish New York, get my bling and call it a season.

Anyway...Jill, I just might take you up on your idea. In fact I'm already about 95% sure I'm skipping Boston next spring so I can focus on excelling in my core distance range (10-13.1). Plus, if I skip Boston, I can finally do the Broad St. Run! And yeah, I love trails too...

FB - nice job on the 10, esp in the humidity. So glad we're done with that...oh wait a second, looks like it's coming back later this week. Oh well.

BBS - same as FB re the weather. Enjoy the anniversary celebration.

Dan - hope you and the pooch are dreaming happy dreams right now.

Dave - nice brick. I need to do more of those in 2011.

4bm - enjoy the rest & um, laundry duty (as much as one can).

RA - cold meds to knock you down, Red Bull to pick you up. Guess it worked.

zrun - nice decision to go elliptical. Make the Type A side of the brain go on vacation while tapering.

kevin - glad the wildfires didn't stop your run.

Alex - pump away, Ironman. Not the triathlon Ironman...I mean like THE Ironman.

Good day everyone.

I guess my post got lost. I got out for 4.4 miles this morning before work. It was a very pleasant morning at 66 degrees and lower humidity. I think I may have some motivation. Let's hope it holds.

Good running/resting to all.

Test results back: thyroid is fine, but I am a bit anemic. Probably created the tired, no running, gaining weight which led to the blues. So now I have a recovery plan..yay!
